Pluses are location, adjacent parking garage and spacious suite with a lovely view. Minuses no television in living room, very dirty shower, no paper products besides toilet paper, could have used tissues and napkins for the kitchen. The “mini bar” was a handful of soda & water in the refrigerator. Some upgrades still needed for these rates.

The hotel is still a work in progress. There is no valet parking yet and no rooftop bar yet, but they are working on it. The hotel is in a great location by the bay, which was perfect for what we wanted to do. I would like to stay again when everything is complete.

The hotel was nice and clean, but the beds are very hard and they only have about 10 parking spaces. You have to park in paid public parking garages a few blocks from the hotel.

“Galaxy Hotel: Where Four Stars Are Pure Fiction”
Title: “Galaxy Hotel: Where Four Stars Are as Real as Unicorns” Booked the Galaxy Hotel expecting a four-star experience, but it turns out, their four stars are as real as Bigfoot. Hotels.com promised a “pay at the property” option, valet parking, and a rooftop bar. What did I get? A chuckling owner, employee parking as my “exclusive valet spot,” and a rooftop bar that’s as invisible as the WiFi signal. Their excuse? “We opened early for the hurricane!” Ah, yes, nothing like rushing to open without amenities, then expecting guests to be impressed. No bar, no restaurant, no WiFi that actually works. After two calls to the front desk about the TV, I was assured maintenance would come. Spoiler alert: maintenance is as elusive as their advertised pool and spa. The bed linens felt closer to discount motel than four-star hotel, and when I asked to speak to the manager, it took her a casual 30 minutes to show up. Meanwhile, the owner admitted that, yes, the third-party sites list amenities they don’t have—his defense being “It doesn’t say they’re open.” By that logic, they might as well advertise unicorn rides and live concerts. To their credit, the young lady at the front desk was a gem, and she deserves a bonus for dealing with this galaxy-sized mess. The Galaxy Hotel is a stellar example of false advertising—if you’re looking for a fictional four-star, this is your place. Otherwise, save your sanity, your hotspot data, and your vacation by booking literally anywhere else.

On checking in the carpets in the room were soaking wet from a flood. The phone didn’t work and the staff were both rude and unhelpful. Finally got another room but only 1 bed when we booked 2 beds. They then gave a dirty sofa to use and the. We find out the door to the balcony in the new room is broke and can’t gain access to the balcony. The hotel is a wreck and should be avoided. I am recalling my CC and certainly not paying for this stay !!

At 3pm we were told that there is no space in the garage anymore. The Garage accross the street is not allowing overnight parking. No street parking nearby (only 2 hr). The room was fine but very overpriced. We stayed one night because our original hotel in St Pete got flooded due to hurricane.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in
The interior design of the galaxy hotel was absolutely horrid. We had to switch rooms because the ac was broken in the first room. And some extremely smelly manager came and tried to “fix” the ac and did not speak a lick of English. After he left he told us no worrry it’s fixed. It was not fixed. I understand sometimes you forget to wear deodorant. But this guy literally smelled up our entire room and my wife and I could not handle it. Hygiene is very important, especially when dealing with guests. The walls were paper thin so you can literally hear everything. Thankfully we got a cooler room. But the rooms interior and furniture was just uncomfortable and just not appealing. When I went down to front desk, multiple people were asking for refunds because there room was too hot or not satisfactory. I felt bad for the front desk lady she was very nice. But overall not a good experience at the Galaxy Hotel and I would not recommend staying here.

Overpriced and Not Ready
The hotel is clearly new and looks very nice. It allegedly opened early before it was ready for linemen and displaced people after the recent hurricanes, which is great. However, it did not seem to me that this was done in a philanthropic manner as the price of the room was over $300 a night. Yet, what would be expected from a hotel charging this price was not present. The refrigerator in the room did not work. The phone in the room did not work. The hotel did not appear to have a clear parking arrangement for the guests, which made parking a real problem. Basic items were missing. There was decaf coffee, but no regular coffee in the room. There were not even cups in the room despite having a coffee maker. There was no ice bucket. The lighting in the rooms were very poor. The hot water was only warm in the shower. Also, the sheets were surprisingly uncomfortable and itchy. The sheets felt like they had not been washed and were of cheap quality. The staff were nice. Yet, this hotel still needs a lot to be done before it reaches the value for what I paid for a 2 night stay.

Good until Hurricane and price gouging.
I was ready to give this property a 4-5 star until the hurricane came, water came through my window and all electricity went out. What happened to backup generator? Before that, I was booked for three days before and during hurricane Milton and requested a fourth night and was given a price 2 1/2 times what I paid for first three nights. PRICE GAUGING!
