As already discussed with the previous agent all through the night, Hotels.com show that they had availability then we went to check in after reserving the room. They had no available rooms whatsoever and it’s hard for me to even write this properly because my cousin and I have stayed at the candlewood before and we’re very familiar with the staff and they’ve always been great to us, howeverthey have we’re so overbooked and they felt so bad because we ended up having to sleep in the car actually reading didn’t get any sleep. We just stayed in the car. We’re exhausted for cranky. We don’t feel well and once again there was a disconnect between what Hotels.com showed and what the actual hotel had available that would be the third time in the past three weeks that that has happened to us and it’s not fun and it’s very frustrating.

Housekeeping didn't clean or empty trash in the room the 4 days I was there. Front desk staff did offer to carry luggage by stairs to second floor since elevator was broken. Front desk staff were friendly. Front entrance doesn't look like the photo. Sidewalk at entrance was painted black, not clean. Random plastic chairs were on the sidewalk. Business center out of date. Needed fresh carpets, paint and trim repairs, plumbing repairs.

Staff member Charles was amazing. Very apologetic about the elevator not working due to an outage but offered to carry my bags to the room. Room was spacious, clean and beautiful. Very comfortable beds and pillows. This was a work trip for me so the desk space was huge and comfortable. I would love to stay here again.

First Stay at Candlewood Suites - King Suite We had a pleasant 4-night stay at Candlewood Suites. While this property is not full-service and doesn’t offer daily housekeeping, the staff makes morning rounds to check if anything is needed. Our King Suite was spacious and comfortable, featuring a fully equipped kitchen, a walk-in closet, and a large desk with a nook. The TV had over 200 channels, including HBO, ESPN, and international options, perfect for late-night binging. The hotel offers a Lending Locker at the front desk, where you can borrow items like beach towels, books, and blenders. The location is excellent, with several shops, food chains, and banks nearby, including a 5-minute walk to Walgreens, Publix and a few bars. This convenience sets it apart from other lodging options in Clearwater/Safety Harbor. However, be aware that the elevator is currently out of order due to a lightning strike. If you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with children and a stroller, this could be an inconvenience in the 3-story property.
