Come and share our dream at Grande Bay Resort… “Jameson’s Escape”. A gorgeous penthouse condo with extensive wrap around patio and unobstructed views of Cruz Bay on St. John, US Virgin Islands. Our one bedroom condo is perfect for a couple who want all the amenities of an upscale condo and the intimacy of your own home. I’m a veteran who has traveled the world and find St. John to be the place on earth that warms my heart more than any other. St. John has some of the worlds best beaches and sunsets and a combination of Caribbean charm with the safe and homey feeling a of a welcoming small American town. And if you’re frustrated like me that every business keeps raising your prices … I’ve lowered my rates 10% starting June 2025 all the way through 2026!
Our WATERFRONT Penthouse condo at 2PH1 Grande Bay (check out a live view here …. https://youtu.be/_XL6F4N3qx0 ) is optimally located in the closest building to charming Cruz Bay Harbor, impeccably decorated in chic, modern Ethan Allen style furnishings and lively, authentic Caribbean style artwork and photography.
This 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo has been decorated to be suitable for all ages, from young honeymooners to couples seeking an upscale retreat. The setting is perfect for every time of day, from the aroma of your coffee in the morning until your sunset cocktails watching the glorious sunset over St. Thomas, with the enticing sound and smell of the ocean.
The advantages of our 1 bedroom Penthouse over other Grande Bay units:
The unobstructed WATERFRONT view – no other buildings are between you and the water - so the views are impressive!
The expansive outdoor living area has a covered dining area with seating for four, lounge chairs, and comfortable bar stools and table, great for watching the sunset over the harbor while enjoying an evening cocktail. The views are breathtaking!!
You will feel right at home in the living room with all of its conveniences, including newly added furniture with a queen sized sleeper bed and 40” flat screen TV with Cable TV and full streaming capability as well as newly upgraded washer and dryer. The kitchen has top of the line stainless steel appliances and granite countertops with all of the conveniences of home and more, such as a coffee maker, blender – everything you need to relax and enjoy your home away from home.
The ample sized bedroom boasts a newly added king sized bed with luxurious bedding, plantation blinds, and is decorated with photography by renowned local photographer and artist John Baldwin and other artwork by popular Caribbean artists.
The bedroom’s large half bath has ample storage and counter space and privacy, and the full bath includes a newly tiled shower.
Covered parking is conveniently located directly on the harbor front road at ground level; the assigned parking space is just steps to the elevator that takes you to the fourth floor.
It’s just a five minute walk to all of Cruz Bay’s restaurants, shops and bars. All just a 3 hour flight from Atlanta. Please ask me any questions, I’m excited to share all about this wonderful island. Beach towels/chairs/cooler are included.
Recommendations and tips:
-You will receive a text from my management company, St John Villa company. They are awesome and will help you with check in, parking, etc. and can also connect you with a Provisioning company if you want to get your groceries etc. in advance.
-You will receive a text from Your V.I. Guide, a concierge service that can help you with boat charters and other excursions.
-Bring sunscreen and bug spray.
-Delta is much more reliable getting to St. Thomas than other airlines and prices can be significantly lower if you travel Monday-Thursday.
-At St. Thomas airport there are taxi vans at the end of baggage claim that will take you to Red Hook Fairy (~$25 per person, cash only).
-Take the ferry to St. John, make a right and walk two blocks to our condo at Grande Bay.
-Every one on St. John gets to the beaches either by taxi or rental car (there’s very little development on the beaches themselves and they are mostly inside the National Park, which is what makes them world class). I recommend rental car. But if you go this way I recommend you rent at least 1-2 months in advance and be advised we drive on the left side of the road. All the rental car companies are reliable, but I recommend Sunshine, Slim Man, or Island Hoping Rentals. Island Hoping has been particularly reliable for me.
-Best beaches: Francis Bay, Cinammon Bay, Maho Bay, Trunk Bay, Salt Pond Bay. And … Caneel Bay recently reopened to the public!
-Best restaurants: Morgans Mango (upscale seafood); Greengos (legit Mexican, amazing tequila selection, and best place to watch NFL!); Sun Dog Cafe (Caribbean/Mexican hybrid); Skinny Legs (this one is a must for lunch; in Coral Bay but worth the drive; rumored to be an inspiration for Cheeseburger in Paradise); Lovango Rum Bar (great wood fired pizza, amazing rum selection, and RIGHT next to the condo). And when you need an island “go to” that’s reliable any time of day try High Tide or Cruz Bay Landing have both maintained excellence down here for a long time.
-Best “merch”: Skinny’s (mentioned above) and Ocean Surfari. Even though OS is next to the ferry in a spot that you’d guess is a tourist trap … they have awesome selection, the fairest prices on the island, constant sales, and a great staff!
-Best bars: The Windmill (maybe the best view in the Caribbean except for our place ;); Woody’s for happy hour shrimp and bushwacker (with peanut butter!); Shambles (across from Windmill) for best bbq on the island; The Upstairs (best place to catch sports and hang with locals); Beach Bar for later / live music.
-Boating: There are several charter companies that go to the British VI (Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda are the most fun). For something fun just around St. John try a Boston Whaler from Low Key Watersports.
Hit me up with questions, always!
