We came here after staying in the town of St. George's and were surprised at how far away the apartment was from the main road, given the map provided on the listing. It's about a 30 minute walk (mostly uphill) to the main roads. The resort next door has a restaurant, coffee shop and small market, but the last two are closed at least Sundays and Mondays.
The view was beautiful and we loved the seclusion as well as the look of the house. The garden was also lovely, but the beach felt lackluster. There isn't much sand at all and although that was the main thing that sold us on renting the apartment, we didn't spend any time down there. The beach is much smaller than the pictures let on. Only a small portion of what is pictured is accessible directly from the apartment.
Our first night, there was flooding in the lower apartment. Cornelious quickly and efficiently moved us to another apartment in the building, which we were very grateful for. He was always quick to answer calls and texts too. Additionally, he allowed us to check in early and use an outside covered patio to relax at after checkout, before our flight so we weren't dragging our bags around town.
Lastly, the dishes just weren't clean. We had to re-wash them all before use because of lots of leftover food residue and leakage from the sink. The hot water only occasionally worked as well. A couple other things like ceiling fans and windows didn't work properly either. One positive was all of the keypad locks that kept us from having to carry a key.
Overall, the apartment has lots of potential. It's beautiful and could certainly be a great place to stay, however, we felt that some basic things like better cleaning and maintenance needs to happen first. The location is great if you're looking for a relaxed getaway, but for those wanting easy access to the rest of the island, it may not be the best choice, as you'll end up paying around 30 bucks each way for taxis to st georges or grand anse, if you don't want to walk and use the bus system.
