The movie “In the Heat of the Night “ was filmed on the W.E. Baue farm that this acre of land was a part. The iconic scene of Jess’ Garage was filmed 100 feet away.
The space
Gathering Place. Invite the family for a day of yard games and cookout as you sit around the fire pit at sunset and listen to the frogs croak and watch the lights bugs glow. This French country with a whimsical flair is the comfortable decor of this country home. Located 2 miles south of the city limits of Sparta this home has easy access to the major routes to nearby Pyramid State Park, Randolph County Lake, the Pierre Menard Home, the Cohen House, Kaskaskia Island the home of the Liberty Bell to the west, Kaskaskia state park on the bluffs of the Mississippi River the tombs of the soldiers from the French Indian War, find the Lewis & Clark Trail & Fort Des Charters a few miles away. Catch your own dinner at the Randolph County Lake or visit local food flair at Get Smashed BBQ, Route 4 Restaurant, the White Rooster Brewery, the Orchid House and our local Dairy Queen has fun promotions everyday.
