"Not-A-Pine Lane COTTAGE" is a family treasure enjoyed by generations

Awakening to the call of loons and ending your days with beautiful sunsets. Enjoy afternoon sun from our west facing cottage. The cottage on the lake on Not-A-Pine is a family treasure enjoyed by generations. Nestled in the woods at the end of the road, the cottage surrenders to relaxing water views on the east shore of the lake. Set back from the edge of the lake by approximately 60 feet, with 150 feet of your own private shore-front, swimming can be enjoyed right in front of the cottage. There is a dock where you can "park" your boat, fish, or launch a kayak. Plus you have access to a swim float!

This is the opportunity to spend quality time hanging out with family and friends. The living room overlooks the lake where you can have a fire in the fireplace, read, relax, and play board games. The cottage sleeps six people; the master bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has a set of twins, and a there is a futon in the living room. There is a newly remodeled full bath. You can enjoy your meals inside or outside the cottage on the deck, with a full kitchen and gas grill to make dining enjoyable for everyone. See you at the lake :)

Quietly situated between the advantages of Augusta and the incredible coastlines of the mid-coastal region of Maine, the China Lake region keeps hustle and bustle at a calm and cool level. This is an exceptionally tranquil area of Maine with rolling hills, picturesque farms, crystal clear lakes, ponds and streams, and bustling small towns. Fishing is excellent in the China Lakes region where you can fish for landlocked salmon, small mouth bass and white perch.

A bit of folklore is the "Indian Heart Rock," or "Sacred Heart," that is carved near the base of a boulder on the shore in South China. Legend has it that an Indian carved the heart into the stone out of the tribes religious devotions so that it would last through the ages. Other outdoor fun off the lake includes hiking, biking, picnicking, white water rafting, antiquing, and sightseeing along Maine's historic, picturesque country roads.

Our Best Family Vacation Yet
Our family just got home from our 8 night stay and we had such an incredible time. Our kids are 8 and 11. We kayaked, swam, fished and roasted marshmallows. There's plenty of room inside to spread out and relax. There are quite a few games and books available. There's a smart TV with streaming services available and Wi-Fi (although we did have some connection issues). The bedrooms were cozy and had everything needed for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was well stocked with towels. The kitchen was small, but well stocked and we had most of the things we needed. The only thing I wish we had been able to find were nut crackers - We bought steamed lobsters to go from the place close by and enjoyed a lobster dinner on the porch and those would have been helpful, but certainly didn't keep us from cracking the claws open. If this is something you might do, I recommend you bring some along! We brought our dog with us and there were plenty of trees to use to set up the run we brought with us, we were even able to reach it from the sliding door on the back side, which was awesome for those rainy days when we just wanted to let her out to do her business. The water is very close and accessible. You can enter the water via the dock right out front or down the hill a little if you want to go in shallow water. We absolutely plan on going back next summer. Tiffany was a wonderful host and we enjoyed our stay!

Medicine for the soul…
Tiffany made sure every detail was attended to, checked in before the anticipated tropical storm to make sure we were alll set, and was a kind and gracious host. The cottage was so peaceful and was much more roomy than the pics appeared to show. We didn’t get to use the fire pit due to rainy weather - nor the kayaks, but we really enjoyed the fireplace at the end of the week when it was cooler. Our little chihuahua, Emmet, also enjoyed bring off leash and exploring the property - including the water. He liked the coziness of the fireplace as well! A grocery store and discount store were but a couple miles away, so very handy. We didn’t get to try the local ice cream shop nearby but will next time. A laundromat was convenient, being only 2 or 3 miles away, so there wasn’t so much to wash when going home. Can’t wait to go back to unplug and enjoy the solitude, the lake, and the lions…

Peaceful
Although it rained all the time we were there, the cottage was quaint and homey and enjoyable. There were games on the shelf to amuse us and we were able to take a swim in the beautiful lake. When I had questions, the owners got right back to me. Only drawback was that the water was not drinkable in the house so we had to bring in water to cook and drink. Shower pressure was awesome. Hope to return next year and hopefully have sunny weather so we can enjoy time outside.

Not bad
Property and cottage nice, sofa's smell musty and no blinds or curtains on slider which makes it very uncomfortable to sit in living room at night or too sleep on. Tv the size of a computer screen. Over all, everything else was good for the price. Kitchen had all you need.

Not A Pine Getaway
Cottage was accurately described on website. Rustic lakefront property with beautiful sunsets from the deck. Fully supplied kitchen with full size modern oven. Bathroom very clean, and had nice touches with a pedestal sink and circular shower enclosure. Best water pressure in 17 years of traveling up to Maine to fish. Three guys caught 12-15 bass each morning some were in the 5-6 lb range. Host very responsive to our text messages. Can't wait to come back.

Loved it!!
A very comfortable rustic cabin in a beautiful location! The owners are very helpful and responsive, and we found lots of fun short hikes and things to do in the area. Hiked Howard Hill with view over the state capitol in Augusta, which was a unique thing to do in the area. The cabin has a stocked kitchen, a couple of kayaks, a perfect location for the fire pit overlooking the lake, a dock with ladder into the water, a swim float, a small rocky beach area, and daily beautiful sunsets. Highly recommend!

Too short but so sweet
Been obsessed with Maine perhaps since a 30 day Outward Bound course some forty years ago. Booked due to location, value, and flew into Bangor. The camp is located right on China Lake on what is nearly a point, you have 180 degree view of the water from the property. The western facing view means the sunsets through the trees are sometimes stunning. We grilled and chilled and relaxed. Tiffany was at the ready and very accomodating. I only wished that I stayed longer!

Rustic cottage perfect for a few days away. Nice fire pit and the dock was perfect for our 2 small boats and a refreshing swim. We never got the tv or the wifi to work, but we really didn't miss them. Games and conversation were plenty of fun. We would repeat in a heartbeat.

Will keep it brief because I don’t want to let others into a good thing. Great view, property, peaceful and secluded yet close enough to any city needs (for vacation). Lake fishing and size with lack of traffic most impressive. Our hound Blue loved the water and backyard. Tiffany and company were helpful and couldn’t have been nicer. Shout out to Scott and Jeremy at Maine Boat Rental in Winslow for fishing boat and delivery, hospitality. Young Family

Lake Life is the Best
We love vacationing on Maine lakes. The property is well situated just steps from the water and there is not a big hill to go up or down to get there. We did not luck out with weather or with the loons (really missed them), but still had a wonderful, relaxing break from everyday life.

Great little Cabin!
We stayed here for a week with our grandchildren (aged 3, 5, and 13) as well as my daughter and grown grandchildren for a couple days. We enjoyed it thoroughly! The owner very nice and helpful. She answered rhe phine whenever we called with questions during the week! There were linens on the beds, good quality bath towels and beach towels for use included! There was also a canoe and two kayaks on site for us to use (and we sure did!) The camp itself felt bigger than it actually is. The main great room is large with plenty of floor space for the little ones to play with their Lego's. There was also a large deck with a grill for outside dining and hanging out. The large lawn and 150' of lake frontage made the place feel very private! Although there isn't a sandy beach and shallow entry into the lake, our 3 and 5 year olds had no trouble swimming from the dock, which was a lot of fun to dive and jump off! During our stay we saw deer, turkeys, ducks, geese, loons, a bald eagle, and even a great blue heron, who who visited the dock almost every day! This camp exceeded our expectations and the owners made the whole experience easy. We will definitely return to Notapane lane in the future!
