two lovely nights in sorrento
we stayed two nights in sorrento, me, my wife and my 11 yr old daughter. the lobby in in one part of the building while the rooms are at the same building, but entering for another entrance (5 10 meters away) the rooms are small but enough for 3-4 people. there is a twin bed and a two decker bed for the children which open up and close upon need. the restroom is big, the shower is small the service all and all is good. it is a small 20 room hotel run by the parents and their children breakfast is good, very Italian oriented: bread, donuts, coffee, spreads, cereal for the children and coffee, tea and juices. enough to get started for the day there is no on site parking. parking on the street is always full, so they have a deal with a lot , 5 minute walk and it cost 25 euros per day. cheaper than other lots, I checked! the walk to the central piazza is 5 minutes away with many shops, restaurants , etc, so the location is great. across the street from the hotel there is a supermarket the only downside was on the second night we had ants in the room. we told them right away, they sprayed what ever they did, we went back to the room and that was that. never had ants in a hotel before, but we are all human and can make mistakes. would I go back? yes

The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk to Piazza Tasso. The room and hotel is ok, needs some attention. The towels are worn & ragged. My shower did not drain when I arrived and the owner of the hotel didn't show any emergency to fix it, the next day it was finally usable. I found the owner to be rude, and not helpful. Although her daughter was lovely.

Home again
My mom and I had stayed there in the past. Very nice and like coming home. Staff very helpful, good buffet breakfast with many choices. Hotel Savoia is centrally located to the town square and a good jumping off location for day trips. This is a family owned and run hotel so great pride is taken to make sure guests are comfortable. Sad to leave there yesterday. Sorrento is a beautiful city.

This family run hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the center of Sorrento. The breakfast buffet was very good and the personalized attention offered by the staff was first class. The family also owns a restaurant in Sorrento which was delicious. I recommend this location for visiting Capri too!

We initially had booked a room at Hotel Savoia. Upon arrival we were told there was an issue and we had to be moved to another hotel. Which apparently was an upgrade to a better hotel. The hotel we were moved to was in a terrible area for noise in a super busy part of the city. Not a great first night in Sorrento. I also checked online and I paid more for hotel Savoia than this hotel was listed at.

Stay in Sorrento
The hotel was basic but adequate. There was no heat or a/c on and it was very noisy when the window was open for fresh air. The walk from the center of town was short but there were not sidewalks all the way so you were in the street for part of the walk. At night, it was a bit unnerving.

Didn't live up to expectations
Our room was in a separate building which had an unpleasant aroma, the bed was rock hard (we normally like a firm bed but this was like concrete), the paint on the ceiling was peeling off, the safe was locked shut, our view was of someone's very untidy yard (we had no view to speak of) and the location was not ideal. On a bright note however the breakfasts were great!

Great hotel centrally located
This was an excellent hotel located within walking distance of the town centre (less than 5 minutes) and less than a ten minute walk from the train station. There is a great café frequented by locals close by as well as a grocery store. I would highly recommend it and will stay there again the next time I'm in Sorrento.

Beyond the bridge
This hotel is located a couple of blocks from downtown Sorrento and it is easy to reach from the train station. There is a supermarket close by if you need to buy extra food or fruits. Although my bed was smaller than I expected, I found everyone at the desk and in the dining room friendly and serviceable.

Good location - disappointing experience
The hotel has a good location. Our rooms were in what seemed to be a converted apartment block next door to the hotel which was strange. We booked double beds for both rooms and were told on arrival that there were no double beds and it was just to single beds pushed together. The hotel refused to do anything about this but did attempt to make up one set of twin beds as a makeshift double bed - not ideal. They refused to do the other room as only one person was staying in it. The air conditioning did not work properly in one of the rooms which made for an uncomfortably hot night Breakfast was disappointing - just a small buffet with very limited choice - Not even any fresh orange juice. We would recommend going out for breakfast. On check out they did not seem to realise we had already paid through Expedia and also tried to over charge us on the local taxes payable at the hotel.

Worst in Sorrento
Reception looks good , then they take you next door to a block of bedsits where they own a few. You have to pay to use the lift which is accessed by getting up a flight of stairs and in the room you can hear everything next door including the bathroom. Bed uncomfortable,tv didn’t work, no kettle etc in the room, no service. Been going to Sorrento for ten years, have a lot of friends there, this place let them down.

Not a great hotel. Near train station
Our experience was somewhat different to everyone's here....Apart from Sarah (who was lovely) the staff were rude, abrasive and unhelpful. The room wasn't terribly clean - especially the bathroom, and there was a foul, sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The walls were paper thin and you could hear every thing going on in the room next door and the neighbors above. The hotel rooms are actually located in a residential apartment building. The hotel is essentially made up of 2 separate apartments, with each apartment split into separate hotel rooms. The reception is in a different building next door. Oh, and the elevator is old and rickety, and you have to pay to ride in it each time (5c).

Close to central amenities but difficult to find from bus/train station as roads loop under each other. Friendly staff. Room in flats in next door building. Had to use very old lift at cost of 5 cents (supplied by staff at reception). Room small but clean. Shower large but paint flaking off it a lit and door off rails do did not shut properly. Mirror very worn. Overall a bit shabby.
