Access to this home is via a 10-mile gravel road maintained by the National Forest Service. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended due to the rugged terrain and potential snow. Take your time as you ascend the mountain, roll the windows down, and take pictures of the unfolding landscape. Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) and Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) are also options, with GJT being 30 minutes further away than MTJ. For those traveling from farther away, Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 5 ½ hours from the lodge by car, plus an extra hour from the airport.
