Originally owned by a Swiss cheese magnate, this grand yet comfortable place in Solitude has retained the feel of a Swiss ski chalet, perfect after a ski or hike through the unparalleled mountains around it. 4 bedrooms allow your group to space out, and a large great room with 20 foot high ceilings extends through the dining area, kitchen, and up to the entry. Fireplaces, thermostats in each room, a jetted tub, and Club Solitude's hot tubs, heated pool, sauna, & gym complete the perfect getaway.
3 levels of living that let you spread out and enjoy your time in the mountains. A great living, dining, and kitchen room with vaulted ceilings. 4 bedrooms, king beds in each, two have en suite full bathrooms, one with a wood burning fireplace and jetted tub in its bathroom. Two of the bedrooms also have a set of bunk beds in each, and one of those rooms has an en suite half bath and laundry space. That room is open to the bottom of the staircase, so has less privacy than the other bedrooms. The other has a large walk in closet with rollaway bed. Two porches let you enjoy the outdoors from the convenience of the house.
There are 2 TVs, one large one in the living/dining area, and one small one in the downstairs king bedroom, both of which have Roku, Netflix, and Hulu subscriptions. Feel free to use those for other channels, whether free or by signing in with your subscriptions (just remember to sign out afterward).
During your stay you can use the resort facilities using the key cards provided. The place has a two car garage, with a tandem spot on the street behind the garage. If more than 3 parking spots are needed additional spots in the parking lot can be purchased from the Solitude resort.
Big Cottonwood Canyon is incredible in every season. Solitude base is at 8,000' elevation, with a further 2,500' up to the summit of Mt Solitude. There are connections to many more mountains, trails, and ski runs. In the summer there are lakes, ponds, creeks, with wildflowers blanketing the mountains. In the fall many autumn colors from maples, aspens, and oaks mixed in among the conifers. In the winter there's the "greatest snow on earth." Plenty of wildlife in all seasons as well, you may see moose, deer, elk, coyote, and rabbits.
You can take the ski bus up to Solitude or drive yourself. In the winter you'll need snow tires and preferably four-wheel drive as well.
