Villa Eleonorae has an incredible view and being on the south west side of the island it gets the sun from the morning until dusk.

This is a comfortable home from home, creating a holiday vibe in a wonderful setting. It is modern, yet in keeping with the local design.

You will find all that you want here including bedlinen and fluffy towels from the White company and lots of other home furnishings set out too create a sumptuous holiday atmosphere.

This Greek island villa is named after the falcons that swoop over it, situated in gorgeous countryside near the picturesque hill village of Glossa. Its secluded location is private, despite its proximity to the beaches, the port, the Mamma Mia church and the village itself, and the villa is not overlooked.

The mesmerizing panoramic view takes in the islands of Evia, Skiathos and the Pelion and away to the mainland, as far as Mt Parnassus and closer to home down to the village of Glossa and its port of Loutraki.

The villa itself is built by hand in the traditional style of the island, with vaulted open-beamed ceilings of local chestnut and pine, wooden balconies and tiled roofs, complemented by a modern clean touch and up-to-date fittings and equipment. The interior comprises of eclectic furniture and antiques.

The main bedroom has a super king size double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The view through double doors looks out over the garden and beyond over the Aegean Sea. The terrace outside leads to the garden and there are seats and a table there offering another place to relax. This light and airy room is decorated with paintings and it has a painted wooden ceiling. There is a full length mirror and plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases.

Bathing towels are also provided.

For the hot season there is air conditioning.

The second bedroom has a double door styled on the traditional island design. It has two single beds that can be adjoined to make a super king size bed. It is colourful, light and airy with a painted wooden ceiling.

This bedroom also shares a similar view to the main bedroom and also has double doors leading out to a terrace with a great view to wake up to. The wardrobe is has ample space and there is also a full length mirror and air conditioning.

There is a fold up chair and extra mattress available for a fifth person, this arrangement is suitable for a teen or younger and can fit into the twin bedroom.

Both bathrooms have good showers with marble finishes, toilets and basins set in teak. Complete with White company towels, soap and heated towel rails.

Well appointed, airy kitchen and living area with views to the swimming pool and the sea. It has access to the extensive covered veranda and yard. The equipment includes electric cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hard wood work surfaces, double sink & good quality utensils.

The living is on the 1st floor, and opens up to the extensive balcony. Open plan, with an attractive open wooden ceiling, it is well appointed with a fireplace, wifi. Comfortable furnishings and rugs. It opens onto the veranda at the front of the house and the yard at the rear.

The utility room is located downstairs and home to the heating system, washing machines, freezer, cool boxes, ironing board, drying rack and first aid cabinet.

There are lots of outside spaces to choose from whether it is for sunbathing or for shade. Outside the house has been specifically designed to offer guests the maximum benefit of outdoor living. on one side of the living area there are the double doors on to the large and wide hard wood balcony, on the other side of the living area is the the main entrance into the villa from the lavender and citrus tree lined yard. this are is covered with a chestnut pergola that has jasmine covering a portion of it at one end and straw matting over the dining area. there are large double doors at one end that open up to the area where the vehicles can be parked. this enclosed yard are makes for yet another cosy and intimate area, it is also complete with the outside kitchen and BBQ.

The private swimming pool which measures 8x4m looks out over the bay. It is located at the side of the villa on a split level. It has steps leading into it and a shallow and deep end. This area is fully Illuminated with switches at either end of the area. There are wooden sun beds, low tables, umbrellas and a large cushioned bench. There is an outside shower and an orange tree at the far end of this area and next to it stone steps that lead up to the terrace above. The pool area is enclosed tastefully by railings, with a latched gate to restrict access by underage children.

The property extends to 7355 square meters and is set out in terraces, gardens and trees, so providing guests with privacy and space.

The hard wood veranda runs along two sides of the villa and faces south west. The front veranda measures 3m wide x 9m long it provides a perfect space to entertain and dine alfresco whilst taking in the stunning view over Loutraki harbour and the bay beyond.

The yard at the rear of the villa is next to the barbecue. This is the main entrance to the villa from the car park area. Large double doors open onto this area with its shaded pergola and dining area that allow for a cool and relaxed dining alternative when the sun is at its zenith.

All linen, house towels and bathing/beach towels are included.
The property is cleaned once a week, more if required for a small additional charge.
The pool is maintained every two to three days to ensure that it is in good condition.

Due to the situation of the property on the apex of a hill, and the steep slopes around the house, it is not suitable for wheelchair users, or indeed people with mobility difficulties. There are stairs inside and outside as it is a two floor villa. This is worth taking in to consideration if you are not accustomed to stairs.

Car hire is necessary in order to get around and to explore. I can recommend a local car hire family run company which will deliver the car to the port of your arrival and collect from your departure port.

On arriving you will also be met and brought to the villa where you will be welcomed and shown around.

The closest airport Skiathos (JSI) is on the next island closer to the mainland. A transfer taxi from the airport to the port takes five minutes. there are a number of ferry operators here and tickets can be pre booked online. There are Sea taxis which are useful to avoid waiting if necessary, this can be pre booked easily on their website. The crossing time is 15 minutes in the taxi and hydrofoil or 30 minutes on the conventional ferry.

The other options are to fly to Thessaloniki and then take a ferry to Skopelos town, this is available during the summer season months only. Or to fly to Athens and take a connecting flight to Skiathos. Sometimes the airport in Volos is also operating.

I can help and advice on travel arrangements. I look forward to hearing from you!

Back again to the most magical place!
This is our second trip to Villa Eleanore, after a wonderful stay 4 years ago. And it's better than ever! The location is magical - up a steep and bumpy track to the top of the hill, enabling unparalleled views over the neighbouring islands, and the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. The villa itself is simple and small but perfectly formed, with a covered verandah allowing ample space to while away sleepy hours in a hammock, do some sea-view yoga, or watch the sunset with a glass of wine and a game of backgammon. There's a fabulous outdoor kitchen with a shady eating area. The pool is perfect and the terrace is a sun trap all afternoon and into the evening. Below the house the garden stretches down the hill, peppered with fruit trees and herbs. Plenty of fresh figs to pick for breakfast with local honey and Greek yoghurt. Behind the house you can walk along a track through the pine covered hills. Glossa is a short drive (or a hot, steep walk!) away. The people in the tiny local supermarket and the few other shops and restaurants in the town are friendly and generous. We felt incredibly welcome. A truly special place that we'll remember forever.

Wonderful stay
We couldn't have asked for more from the villa. The views are even better than the photos - unbelievable sunsets day after day. The villa is very private, but only a 5 minute drive from Glossa town (or 30 minute walk) and close to lovely beaches. The pool was immaculate and the whole place is surrounded by greenery. The house is very comfortable and well equipped inside and out - great bed and shower! Lots of outside seating areas and a fantastic barbecue. Shane has created a very special place and we felt lucky to spend a week there. Only wish it could have been longer!

Villa with a View
This is a stunning property with views to die for. It is in such a peaceful location and the villa itself has been beautifully designed and put together by the owner. It is called Eleonora after the Eleonara falcons which we observed throughout our two week stay, it was a wonderful experience to watch the buzzards and falcons from the swimming pool or outside shower. The pool is great too - we're coming back!!!

Just fabulous
Villa Eleanorae is as spectacular as the photos suggest. Perched on a hill overlooking Skiathos and the wider Aegean, the views change with the passage of the sun, until sunset when the islands become hazy and the sun dips behind the mountains of the mainland. It is breathtaking every night. And the villa’s pretty top notch too - beautiful, very clean pool, great sun loungers, fab outdoor shower with a window to the view, lovely balcony for lunch and dinner, and great bedrooms and bathrooms all with the view. And we got to share our holiday with the cutest family of cats - mum, dad and one kitten - who were always hanging around looking cute and seeing if there were any treats going. For all this you have to be ready to drive up a very steep hill, so take Shane’s advice and hire a Suzuki Jimny 4x4, but if you like walking there are some lovely trails over and around the hill, all with great views to both sides of the island. Both Eleni and Shane were great too, and the owners of the supermarket athanasiou in the village were also fab, so friendly and have everything you need. All in all a brilliant choice for a quiet, relaxing week in beautiful Skopelos.

Expectation vs Reality
Believe everything about views and location. Perfect and breathtaking. Do not believe the pictures of the property itself. Maybe once. Not now. The 12 feral cats had enjoyed the off white chair cushions to the point that we didn't enjoy them. No pictures of the stairs to the bedrooms and baths. They are very steep and very narrow. Bathrooms are most adequate. Mold and mildew in the shower less offensive in smaller bath. Outdoor kitchen almost as pictured. Reality includes a bucket and mops and a couple of moldy brushes. Pool is as depicted. Wonderful. We visited late in the season. Gardens and pots in need of attention. Jasmine still blooming and welcoming. Orange tree laden with fruit. Lots of lavender. Cyclamen running wild. Town of Glossa deserves mention. Grocer, butcher and baker all closeby and eager to welcome you. Upper town like a little Santorini. Never saw a selfie stick. The port of Loutraki is an easy drive. Best restaurant if Flisvos. Right at the water's edge. We toured various parts of the island each day. Beautiful. Off the main road a bit challenging but part of the adventure. Never had a bad lunch. House wine doable everywhere. Bottom line is we were disappointed with the house because it wasn't what we had been anticipating. Had we not been set up for a 5+ star experience we would not be so critical. It's Greece. Relax your standards and soak up the ambience. Just feel a bit taken advantage of. Shane was responsive to our issues. Mostly they were not resolved but became less important as time moved on. It is a jewel of a place. Deserves better care. We would not revisit nor would we recommend it to friends.

Exceptional customer care, fabulous view..
The villa is very well designed and appointed and comfortable with everything one could want. It's in an exceptional quiet location with a fabulous view. We had a minor water pressure problem which was quickly resolved via a couple of e mails to Shane including a Saturday call by the plumber. Unfortunately on the last day of our holiday my wife became ill and had to have an emergency medical evacuation by boat in the middle of the night to Volos on the mainland. Our half packed luggage, unpacked gifts and passports were left behind. Absolutely everything we had left was thoughtfully and carefully packed and put into store and then delivered to me at the port at Loutraki when I travelled back to collect them some days later ; and if necessary would have been sent to the mainland. Shane and Anthouli (the villa manager) kept in touch throughout and we owe them and the cleaners who packed up an enormous "Thank you" Customer care was absolutely exceptional.

A cosy villa with an amazing view
Villa Eleonora is a lovely comfortable house, fully equipped and well designed with a great pool and most of them a balcony where you can see amazing sunsets on the Agean Sea. The garden is beautiful too, full of fruits and herbs bushes. Shane gives particular attention to his house, and the staff, Eleni and Anthoula, is warm and caring. One of our favorite place to stay. We will come back!

Pure bliss!
Probably our most enjoyable stay ever in a holiday house anywhere. Really deserves six stars! The house is beautifully designed, everything of the highest quality, nothing forgotten and with many attractive personal touches. As commented upon by other reviewers, the view from its elevated position is fantastic. It is very much on its own on the hillside with beautiful surroundings. No sound apart from cicadas, birds and crickets at night. It is a naturist's dream - two kestrels nesting in a pine 100 yards from the house, beautiful Eleanora's falcons (one evening I saw seven together in the sky above and around the house), buzzards, swifts, swallows and many others. One day driving through the forest nearby a large pine marten crossed the track right in front of us in broad daylight. The next day, driving home from an evening in Loutraki, coming up the track we saw another male pine marten and 50 yards further on two more sets of reflected eyes - mother and baby! We have been to Skopelos many times before and it is the most beautiful wooded island. Glossa( 5 minutes) is a very traditional village, little developed but with most essentials and the friendliest people anywhere. Loutraki its port (15 minutes by a very twisty roads) has a laid back charm and some good tavernas. There are pebble beaches galore within easy range of the house. I would comment about the age of guests. On the face of it the villa seems to be ideal for families with young children - which it is absolutely. We, however are quite elderly and we found it absolutely perfect for us. In the past we have swum from most of the beaches on the island, but this time we spent much of our time on the verandah or by the superb pool with a view. When we got too hot we simply rolled into the pool! All in all this has been one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we have ever had. We will definitely come back again next year if we can.

Simply stunning
What can I say that has not already been said! The villa is home from home, with views that just take your breath away, what ever time of day or night is in. We had a wonderful holiday on Skopelos, which is beautiful with such friendly inhabits. We did a day of Kayaking around the island, and a bit of sightseeing (of course, had to be done, Mama Mia Church, with the 300 steps), but the rest of the time was spent at the villa just lazy around the pool with 'that view!' This is our favourite Greek island, flying into Skiathos, doing a bit of plane and ferry watching, while waiting for our ferry. If anyone is worried about connections to the island, it is very simple and arriving at the airport, it is very efficient (a little less efficient departing, but that is partly due to the airport being so small), we had plenty of time to catch our ferry to the island, being treated en-route to watching the dolphins play in the wash of the ferry. Again, we would definitely say a Jeep is a necessarity for the track up to the villa, perhaps not a great track for anyone with a nervous dispersion! For anyone staying at the villa, sending our love to our three friendly cats that joined us at the villa, Ginge, Stubby (lack of tail) and Yappy (did not stop talking to us), it was very hard to leave them and that view. Thank you Shane for letting us stay at your villa.

Beautiful Villa with breathtaking views!
We are home from a really wonderful holiday in this beautiful villa and missing those views so much! We really believe the villa has one of the best views on the island, the sunsets with Skiathos & Evia in the distance were stunning - we also had the most amazing storm one night which was a lot of fun to watch from the safety of the veranda (before the rain came at least)! The villa is very comfortable and well equipped, big beds with those views again and great showers inside and out. We loved the pool too, clean and blue and refreshing with plenty of sturdy sun beds. We were visited on several occasions by the resident peacock and enjoyed warm plums from the trees for breakfast. Skopelos is a beautiful island, so green and unspoilt. The beaches are gorgeous and not over crowded - our favourite was Panormous for late afternoon sun and dinner on the beach. Skopelos town is typically greek, windy streets to explore, plenty of tavernas to refresh at and gorgeous boats in the port. Nearer to the villa, Glossa is also lovely. A small village with several good places to eat - Agnanti was a treat but our favourite was Plateiu (?) in the top square with delicious food, local musicians and lanterns in the trees - lovely! We wished we hadn't left it so late in our holiday to eat here! We paddle boarded from Andrina beach which was great fun and hired a boat for a day to explore the coastline. All in all a fabulous holiday! it is a shame we did not get to meet Shane (our loss from reading previous reviews that he is no longer based on Skopelos) but he was always helpful in answering my questions. Our transfers to and from the island were so easy and straightforward too and the Jimney we hired from Magic cars was great for the steep drive up to the villa. We very much hope we can return one day!

A stunning villa high in the hills, up above the hillside village of Glossa.
We loved our time here, a beautiful villa, a magical setting, and space for all of us to enjoy and relax there in our own ways - whether yoga on lower terrace, drawing on back terrace, evening meals with remarkable sunset on top terrace, or just hanging around pool and lots of swimming...all beautiful! The main bedroom is very spacious and well appointed- the second bedroom a little less so for second couple but very nice - the main challenge was the noisy peacock roosting in a tree right above this bedroom! Skopelos is a beautiful unspoilt island, Glossa is a wonderful hillside village, and this villa sits high above Glossa - a magical place to sit and truly relax and enjoy the natural world around you. Looking at previous reviews and reflecting on our experiences in a couple of other accommodations in Skopelos (- much less luxurious but delightful hosts who took such good care of us - ) our only loss was the 'personal touch' of having the owner on hand to connect with, which can give such added pleasure and insight - as the owner is no longer based on island. Little touches were missing...

Just what the doctor ordered!
From the moment we arrived at Skiathos airport Shane´s hospitality that stretches beyond expectation, kicked in. I received a text when we landed telling me to jump in a cab as quick as possible as the previous ferry had been delayed and if we were quick we could still catch it. We succeeded and it saved us a lot of time. The ferry took us to the harbour below Glossa. Shane arranged for a very friendly couple to meet us and give us the car we had hired. The ease of the whole journey was fabulous which makes such a difference when you have a 9 and 10 year old with you. We followed their car up to Shane´s house and the couple gave us a very friendly tour of the place and answered any of our questions. It is the most beautifully designed villa with breathtaking views and to top it a handsome peacock wandering in the grounds! Shane has created some outstanding outside spaces that blend beautifully into the scenery. The minute the girls saw the pool they were straight in. We sat drinking our complementary wine on the large terrace looking over the pool and over Glossa, down to Loutraki´s small harbour and out to various islands including Skiathos in the far distance. Shane provided so many of the things that make it easy to stay in someone else's place. There were all the toiletries you could want, soap, shampoo, etc including washing up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets...food wise there was enough of the basics in his cupboards to cook a simple pasta dish for the four of us. In the grounds Shane has a vegetable patch which he allows you to help yourself to. My husband and I relaxed so quickly here and the fact that Shane seemed to think of everything you may need made it all so much easier. The girls were thrilled when they found Shane´s stash of swimming paraphernalia in the cupboard under the pool. He has boogie boards, noodles and even a mermaids tail (a mono fin), with this the girls learnt to do butterfly stroke in his pool! We used our hire car to take us to various places. There are many beautiful small beaches nearby and the drives to reach them are amazing. The scenery is very green with a heavy smell of pinewoods in the air and a view of the sea from almost every road. I would thoroughly recommend a trip to Periviliou beach. It has incredible views at the top looking down over turquoise waters and it is an easy climb down to the beach. There is so much more to tell but I think it´s best you come and look for yourself...!

Even better than we had hoped!
This is one of those places that you want to keep to yourself but Shane and Stephanie are so terrific that you also want to support the lovely villa that they have created. Villa Eleanorae is a very special hideaway up a steep hill above the port of Loutraki and the beautiful village of Glossa. Take a close look at the photos, the reality is even better. You definitely need a 4X4 if only for the road up to the villa! Skopelos is a wonderful island to explore. Lovely people, delicious food, breath-taking scenery. I really can't recommend the island, the villa and Shane and Stephanie highly enough! This is the slice of paradise you've been looking for ...

Stunningly beautiful villa with panoramic views
We or should I say YOU are so lucky to have stumbled across this beautiful villa. What Shane has created is a remarkable rustic/ modern interior and exterior villa with every amenity - you will want for nothing. Being so close to Glossa is convenient for shopping at the friendly supermarket and the bread and cakes at the local bakery are wonderful. Walking through the village you feel so welcome as the locals greet you "Kalimera" The villa which overlooks Skiathos has the most amazing sunsets just breathtaking, I can't tell you how many photographs we have taken of the stunning views. Shane and Stefanie are the most hospitable hosts, thanks to them both for looking after us, the supplies of wine, water and bread were very much appreciated for when we arrived and we certainly made the most of the vegetables from the garden throughout the week. I cannot express enough to anyone reading this review you will not be disappointed with either Skopleos (our 2nd visit to the island) or to Villa Eleanore. Just chill out relax and have a wonderful holiday. Just as we have. Mark and Julie Paul Birmingham

Stunning views
Had a fantastic stay at villa Eleonorae. Have stayed in a range of villas over the years with my family but this one for sure has the most impressive views. The villas interior and exterior are designed beautifully, the creative/little touches compliment the place beautifully. Glossa, the nearest town to the villa is also picturesque. It includes restaurants, tavernas, bakeries and many other lovely shops. Our favourite restaurant being Agnanti's. Shane and Stefanie were great hosts, they ensured our stay was a pleasurable one- going out of their way in making sure we had all the information we needed about the many scenic beaches on Skopelos. We also enjoyed the stand up paddle boarding which was huge fun!!!! Wish we were still there and hope to return in the future. Thanks again to you both xx

Amazing Vacation!
We stayed here the last 2 weeks of May and absolutely loved it! The house is very nice and comfortable but the outdoor space is spectacular! The house is stocked with everything you need, even a bottle a wine upon our arrival! The location is ideal and the views are out of this world. It was a great location to be about 5 minutes from Glossa and nothing on the island is more than 40 minutes away. On days when we just wanted to relax we would spend the day hanging out at the pool area and admiring the view. Shane met us at the dock when we first arrived and came by every couple of days to clean the pool and make sure everything was okay. He gave us great advice on places to go, restaurants, Mamma Mia landmarks and local tips. Even before we got to Greece, Shane was helpful in figuring out how to get to Skopelos since the ferries don't publish their schedules until springtime and he arranged our car rental. We had never been to Greece before so we weren't sure if this would be a good island. It was! Skopelos Island has beautiful beaches, quaint towns and the people were very friendly and spoke plenty of English for us to communicate. We rented a Suzuki Jimny and drove everywhere on the island and found it to be fun and easy to get around. We travelled with 2 teenagers and the house was perfect with the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It is hard to find a house with a master bedroom that has a king size bed and this one has it! We hope to go back someday and if we do, we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful house with spectacular view
We had a wonderful spring vacation in Glossa, in Shane's villa. The island of Skopelos is beautiful, the house is charming and very comfortable with a view of the sea, trees and islands that we never tire of. We particularly appreciated the swimming pool and outdoor facilities. Thanks to Shane's invaluable advice and attention to detail, we had a wonderful stay.

Erhohlsam
Wir haben uns gut erhohlt. Die Lage ist sehr schön. Die Einrichtung müsste dringend etwas mehr gepflegt oder erneuert werden. Der Pool war super gepflegt. Wir haben ihn jeden Tag genutzt.
