Fern House is a Charming Period Town House Apartment tucked away in a quiet corner with allocated parking just 30 metres from the picturesque main market square of Grassington with its range of visitor friendly shops, pubs and restaurants in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The apartment spans over the first and second floors, with abundant natural daylight, accessed by stairs from the private entrance lobby through the grand front door.

Top floor...

Master bedroom: treasure a good night's sleep in the tastefully furnished master bedroom with hotel quality super king-sized bed (which can become two single beds) topped with fluffy feather & duck down duvets and pillows & crisp white cotton bed-linen. This room boasts a stunning giant landscape image of the Yorkshire dales, a unique hand painted wardrobe set with plenty of hanging and storage space, a small desk, wicker chairs, views over the rooftops and Fold from the large Georgian window plus a large roof skylight window.

Second Lounge / Second Bedroom: a comfy room with a large chaise longue (or, on request, made up as a second double or twin bedroom with the option of the chaise longue made up as a double or single sofa-bed plus a further single IKEA Lycksele chair bed with best quality mattress), a 40" flat-screen Sony TV's with DVD player, music player, a selection of classical music, maps (including a helpful Yorkshire Dales raised relief map on the wall), book and DVD info on the Yorkshire Dales. Views over the rooftops and Fold from the large Georgian window, plus a large roof skylight window.

First Floor:

Lounge / dining room: this elegant and peaceful room with period features and views over stone-tiled rooftops and quaint Dickensian style court yard provides an enjoyable place to relax and dine; the room has a 40" flat-screen Sony TV's with DVD player, a comfy sofa, mood lighting, a selection of games.

Shower room: stylish contemporary shower-room with dual-head shower, pearlescent mosaic tiles, soft white towels, ambient lighting and mirrors.

Kitchen: a fully equipped home-from-home kitchen maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness; elegant table and bar stools positioned in a place to enjoy views over the historic Pletts Fold courtyard below (and glimpses into the main market square area of Grassington) - it makes a great spot to use a computer while having cuppa or a convenient place for breakfast; the kitchen also has a CD player with range of classical music and a selection of cook books.

Utility area: just off the kitchen you will find a small utility area with tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, slow cooker, high chair, iron and ironing board and a range of cleaning products.

Throughout the flat you will find a stunning collection of framed landscape photographs by a local artist featuring Grassington and the surrounding area.

There is secure BT broadband wi-fi internet which is accessible through out the whole apartment.

The property benefits from an abundance of natural light and includes many original property features including original Georgian sash windows, a large ornate south facing window.

Typical of a property of this period (1866), both staircases are relatively steep and narrow which whilst being part of the character of the apartment may cause difficulty for the elderly and/or infirm. Those with young children will also need to bear this in mind although we have stair gates and manage with a 3 year old ourselves in the apartment.

Ground Floor
Directly at the front of your accommodation there is a small flagged seating area and a convenient reserved parking space for your car.

Grassington is a picture postcard village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Set amongst the magnificent limestone scenery of Upper Wharfedale, Grassington is a hub for local tourism offering a wide range of outdoor leisure activities.

There is a rich tapestry of flower-filled meadowland, high fells, heather moors and broad-leaved woodland, all scattered with stone barns, waterfalls and an abundance of drystone walls.

There are various popular and traditional community events held throughout the year including the atmospheric Dickensian Christmas Festival, the early summer Grassington Festival and the September 1950’s weekend.

Nice location although small entrance for cars to courtyard . Outside area needs some upkeep and inside is a little tired although functional. Great Comms with owners who let us into the property early .

Fabulous location!
I cannot fault this property at all! We stayed here around 5 years ago and couldn’t wait to return (unfortunately COVID prevented it being sooner)! The property is lovely, clean and cosy. Great location and only around 30 seconds walk from the village. Parking is a bonus. Highly recommended.

The property managers (Hazel and Andrew) provided not only great accommodations near the Square in Grassington, but also provided lots of information about things to do in the area. Further, they were very responsive to questions regarding their property.

Fern Cottage is lovely...located in Grassington where All Creatures Great and Small is filmed...in the centre of this beautiful Dales Village it is quiet and convenient. Communication with the host was easy and timely. The cottage was clean and well presented and as described. We would highly recommend a stay to anyone wishing to explore this area.

Perfect location
This was our second visit and will definitely be booking again. Lovely and clean and with everything you need in a perfect location with pubs, cafes, shops and lovely walks right on your doorstep. Very peaceful location, just what you need for a relaxing get away from it all. The main square is really pretty at night, all lit up if you fancy an evening stroll. Thank you Andrew and Hazel.

Well equipped apartment in a quiet location close to the village centre.

Fabulous accommodation!
We had a lovely few days here and loved every minute. The apartment was in a perfect spot in the village and great walks right on your doorstep. The property was very clean and smelled lovely and fresh. We enjoyed the muffins and biscuits too when we arrived, thank you! We will definately be returning very soon. It was the relaxing break we really needed. One thing we did notice was on the property details it mentioned a tumble dryer and slow cooker in the utility room but we didn't see them in there. It didn't make any difference to our stay though. Thank you once again. Dawn and Andy xx

What a beautiful little village grassington is. We had a lovely adventure holiday with our 8 year old daughter and 2 dogs. Some spectacular walks! The location of the apartment is just perfect! Very good accommodation for a couple visiting the Dales
The flat suited us very well for our self-catering week in the Dales. The lounge/diner, main bedroom and bathroom are spacious - the shower is also roomy and very good. The kitchen is compact - not easy when you enjoy sharing the cooking - but has everything you need. Having a private parking space is a real plus. The vehicular entrance into the Fold needs to be negotiated carefully (don't come in an unusually wide car) but is fine. The location, right in the middle of the village, is perfect for village facilities and for walking out to the countryside. We had the added excitement of watching a TV crew filming the Xmas edition of "All Creatures..." -in June!
