This is a very new hotel. The room is small but equipped with most of tourists needed. The beds are comffy. Guests will enjoy the premium filtered water, coffee and tea mix.
This hotel is located in an excellent areas of Singapore where tourists can find good food from budget to high standard seafood restaurants in Geyland.
We did enjoy our short stay with 81 hotel Palace in Geyland. We highly recommend this hotel to tourists who look for a very good budget hotel on Singapore.
The hotel was great, we had a nice experience. Downtown id very accessible, you can take a bus on the main street and pay with your credit card.
However, keep in mind that the neighborhood is bad. Very crowded and dirty. Feels like you're in a souk. So i recommend spending 1-2 days there and staying downtown all day.
Our first room stunk heavily of cigarette / cigar smoke. This was after being told there was no smoking allowed. Clearly this is not enforced, otherwise they would have charged the previous guest a deep clean fee before allowing the room to be used again in such a poor state.
Out second room was fine, still had a strange smell about it. However from 2 to 3am we were awoken to multiple guests in various rooms on our floor yelling incredibly loudly at each and bashing on each others doors. We asked them to be quiet multiple times. This is just to say there is no security guard on site and you will hear everything that goes on in your corridor.
We checked out early after this to go to a better hotel and we are awaiting our refund after being advised there would be one for the unused nights.
Good stay if you need bed and shower and travel light. Very small rooms if you have too many luggage’s this is not a place for you.
Quiet location and close to the train station. There are many restaurants around to choose from.
Perfectly comfortable hotel with friendly service. Could have been cleaner (dusty under bed) and minor annoyances like plug not working in sink. Be aware this area is somewhat of a red light district, which is not ideal.
The hotel itself is fine and the staff are accommodating but it is a 10 minute walk from the MRT and in a pretty rough area. For the price, if you don’t mind walking, it’s fine.
