I have been staying at this property since 1986. The refurb was ok but we had lighting problems in the room. The room service previously excellent was awful with cold food. The management did move quickly on this. Needs a bistro type restaurant doubling as a coffee shop. The current sandwich bar is too small.

The room was spacious & clean. The receptionist was very friendly. We were checking-in late around 9:30pm. Buffet breakfast was good. Going to the shoppes, we booked a Grab to make it faster than wait for taxi. Overall everything was good.

This is a heritage building in a beautiful part of the city- near the Singapore Botanical gardens and Orchard Road. Great Service overall, beautiful design, and very helpful staff. Be aware though, that they charge for wifi and that the bathroom tub can be extremely slippery. It has a step up and is all marble.
