Welcome to the Gatehouse, our newly built 2 bedroom 2 bathroom self contained cottage situated among the majestic Douglas fir trees of beautiful North Saanich. We are a less than 10 minute drive to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, Victoria International Airport and the town of Sidney. Butchart Gardens and the city of Victoria are only 25 minutes away. The Deep Cove market, local wineries, and hiking trails are within walking distance. Ideal for business travellers, couples and families.
If you value privacy, security and tranquility this is what we offer. Access to the fully fenced acreage is controlled via powered security gates with control pad access. You can use a single code on the gates and the wifi enabled deadbolts to access the property. There is ample parking and complimentary access to a level 2 EV charging station on site. Bring your bikes as there is plenty of space to safely store them here.
You’ll have sole access to the entire 916 square foot cottage with its own private 400 square foot cement patio with BBQ and outdoor dining furniture. Inside you’ll find a modern kitchen boasting quartz counters, stainless steel appliances including a gas stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. A selection of small appliances are here including a Keurig coffee machine with a generous selection of coffees and teas. Cutlery, plates, glasses and all the pots and pans needed to prepare food are provided. A full laundry set with all the required detergents and supplies are included. The master bedroom has a queen bed, large closet as well as a wall mounted 4K TV for relaxed viewing. The ensuite includes a generous soaker tub/shower and a selection of complimentary soaps and shaving lotion. If you forget your toothbrush we’ve even got you covered there too. The second bedroom has a set of double over double bunk beds and the living room couch converts to a double bed in a pinch as well. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace and enjoy the latest movie or series in 4K from your choice of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, Crave and HBO. There is a mobile computer desk to provide plenty of options for remote work if your work travels with you. Naturally there is blazing fast internet for all your streaming needs, routinely over 500 Mbps.

Great dog friendly property
Well supplied kitchen with complementary coffee pods for machine, pots, pans, cutlery, etc. It could do without the carpets possibly, for the animals and the pine needles and debris from the property. Plenty of foot mats both in and out of both doors. Very roomy accommodation. Nice neighbourhood with Saturday Farm Market a few blocks away.

Very nice quiet property with absolutely everything we needed for our stay. If you have it in your home it will be here for you. It truly felt like a home away from home. After long days of driving, walking, sight-seeing and visiting with friends and family it was nice to be able to come "home" to the property and be able to just relax as a family. My kids loved the double bunk beds and the relaxing quiet setting of the property was a nice contrast to the business of our days while visiting victoria. It was a very pleasurable trip thanks in large part to our hosts.

The overall impression is very good ! Great location and amazing host ! One minor point is the 2nd bedroom it has 2 double bunk beds. It sleeps indeed 4 people however the top bunk bed is more appropriate for young adults or teens.

We had a delightful time at Mike’s place. Spacious, with everything you would need to make this feel like home. Mike was unaware that the website listed a hot tub as an amenity, and changed it quickly, letting us know there had not been a hot tub there for many years. A great place to stay.

Home away from home
Mikes property is fantastic. Very private and secure. My wife and our dog stayed, our dog had an incredible fully fenced area and the cottage itself is really cozy, modern, clean and has many awesome amenities. This location is filled with nature walking trails, horth hill is a great near by large park within walking distance. Also worth mentioning there are horses, wineries and many farms and farm stands near by. It is such a relaxing area to stay in. Mike is a very friendly, respectful and easy going host, we enjoyed chatting with him while he’s headed to his wood working shop on the weekends. All around great guy and we really enjoyed getting to know him. All in all it’s truly a home away from home. We felt very comfortable and would 10/10 recommend!

I stayed with my dog and two exchange students. It was perfect for me with lots of trails to explore and near the ocean. Was able to paddleboard in a few nearby bays and it’s a short drive to Sidney. Michael, the host, was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again

A Cozy Retreat in North Saanich for Pet-Friendly Getaways
My spouse and I had a wonderful two-night stay at this charming North Saanich property. From the get-go, our host, Mike, was incredibly welcoming and responsive, ensuring a pleasant experience. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom house was spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom, with its incredibly cozy bed and heated mattress, made for a luxurious night's sleep. The fully equipped kitchen was a highlight, eliminating the need to bring our own supplies. Cleanliness was impeccable, reflecting the care taken to maintain a pristine environment. The rural location provided a peaceful escape, yet the property was only a short 7-minute drive from the ferry, combining tranquility with convenience. Being pet owners, we appreciated the pet-friendly atmosphere. The dogs on the property were a non-issue and been able to bring 2 dogs was the main factor in choosing the property in the first place. Our stay was excellent very happy with the area and the accommodations. The only thing was they needed either an extra love seat or a couple smaller chairs as the couch really only worked for 3 people but that was the only negative and not really a negative.

We stayed here for just 1 day and night but the house was well equipped and comfortable for our family of 4 adults 1 toddler and 1 infant. It could accommodate around 6 adults at a time without kids. The restaurants and shops for basic needs are 10 mins away from the house. The host was very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
