The staff went out there way all of them were fanastic My Freind came from different towns we are disabled she had Electric wheelchair I had mobility scooter they couldnt do enough helped is at breakfast lady what helped us we dont knjw her name she went out of way to help us breakfast was fantastic manger he went out his way sat with us from bottom of our hearts 💕 they were brilliant fantastic that goes for cleaning staff every day came to room we were there for remmberance Sunday as our late husband's were on HMS Sheffield In Falklands war so It ment lot to us we were part of Remmberance Sunday as say staff were brillisnt In every way possible we cant thank all staff enough we deafainatally stay again Thank you from me my Freind

The hotel itself for a one night stay was OK & this is the view I expressed direct with the hotel manager who was appreciative to the positive feedback I was able to provide. It wasn’t easy to find on foot & it is an area that is presently undergoing a regeneration project within Sheffield so may be considered not great late at night for walking alone. It is 5-10 mins walk from Fitzallen Square/Ponds Forge metro. Rooms OK, clean, hot shower, breakfast OK.

Setting the record straight
I read previous reviews of this property and believe that they are, at least inaccurate but many were completely misleading. Our stay was comfortable, staff were extremely polite and helpful throughout. The Buffet Breakfast was of a good standard and the young lady serving it was also polite and helpful. Whoever put the review regarding Asylum Seekers is obviously unaware of Sheffield’s multi-cultural community. On further trips to Sheffield, my family and I will definitely avail ourselves of this hotel again. Thank you to the new management and all staff (especially Ajeesh).

The hotel breakfast was great, and the 2 young breakfast ladies were excellent and really helpful, joined 2 tables so we could sit together as there were 6 of us. Also thanks to the receptionist who sorted out our radiator when we could not get it working. And must mention the great welcome we got from the manager who we met in the dining room.

Hotel has great staff, but rough around the edges as new management takes over. Cleaning could be a bit better and the fact the bar & restaurant were closed should be sign-posted.

Needed a one night stay in Sheffield to visit my son at University Hotel was just right and as I came by train no problems with parking Room was large, clean and warm; with a comfy bed too Staff were friendly and efficient and the manager wished me a good day

Just looked grubby throughout, although even though the room was basic the cleanliness in there was very good. Noise the hotel at night was horrendous with people charging down corridors and knocking on doors. Also every door when opened and closed sounded like a massive bang with the room shaking! Obviously it’s a budget hotel, can’t fault the price but it shouldn’t be a hard fix to make the doors soft closing and to have staff monitor the interior corridors occasionally

A place to grab a nights sleep only...
One lift was out of order and in a bad way during our stay. Large brown wet stain on the carpet of one of the rooms we stayed in. Overall, it was comfortable but a tired building which could have been cleaner.

This was a very disappointing hotel. We rarely leave poor reviews as we are easily pleased. However, staff were arguing at check-in about the new computer system. The hotel bar closed at 10pm and there wasn’t anywhere nearby to get a drink. The room was OK but the drains were smelly and two of the three mattresses were very uncomfortable. Wish we’d paid by we tea and stayed at Travelodge as this was a very poor experience.
