The Space:

Where the spherical shape creates an open, airy atmosphere, the spacious interior boasts large windows that flood the space with natural light and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Be prepared to wake up without the need of your alarms!

Our dome home comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests. It features a queen memory foam mattress and a sofa bed for additional sleeping arrangements(separated by a wall- but in the same space!). A TV and a collection of DVDs are available for your enjoyment. The kitchenette is well-equipped with essential appliances, including a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. We also provide paper and plastic cups, plates, and silverware, as there is no kitchenette sink.

The trailhead is just STEPS away! Shaver Lake is full of adventure opportunities including hiking, fishing, and boating. We are conveniently located behind Ken’s Market, you’ll have easy access to local groceries, supplies, and restaurants!

Things to note:

*Since the Creek Fire, there has been an influx of wildlife in the area. Make sure you do not leave food outside or in your car. Be aware of your surroundings during walks.

*Pitch and sap will accumulate on your shoes after walking around outside, please remove your shoes indoors.

*The restroom is not attached to the dome home but it is conveniently located just steps away! The sink in the restroom is the only sink available.

*We are located in the DT area of Shaver, near the entrance of the trailhead.

*Our WiFi is limited and not reliable for work related activities(Zoom meetings/streaming), making this the perfect place to truly disconnect and take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Embrace the tranquility of your surroundings and find solace in the peaceful environment we offer.

The Neighborhood

Located in the heart of the Shaver Lake Village, just behind Ken's Market, to the left of the Shaver Lake Hotel. Walk to every restaurant and shop in Shaver! There is a trailhead, the "Town Trail" located on the North end of the property, which leads to Camp Edison campground, museum, and eventually the lake! Walk by Shaver Stables, through towering trees, and incredible rock formations. Rent water sports gear, kayaks, boats, etc. at the first dock just 5 minutes away!  Easy 25-minute drive to China Peak Ski Resort and Huntington Lake.  While you're in town, check out Mono Hot Springs, Dinkey Creek Honeymoon Pools, and Rancheria Falls!  The Shaver area is a community, rich in generations of family memories and natural beauty. Shaver Lake is a popular lake for water sports activities. Water skiing, jet skis, and windsurfing are some of the activities available at this mountain lake. Canoe and kayak enthusiasts will find many out-of-the-way coves and miles of shoreline to explore.

House Rules

1. Communication is key!  Check-in after 4 pm.  Check out by 11 am.  Our office hours are between 8 am-9 pm, so please communicate between those hours and let us know if you plan to arrive after 9 pm.

2.  Honesty is the best policy! Let us know about ALL guests who will be coming to the house. 4 guests max (there is a King bed and a queen pull out couch). Well-behaved pets are allowed for an additional fee ($100).

3. No unauthorized parties! Please don't try to sneak in more people. No smoking of any kind. Removal of smoke detectors is illegal. Loud music, excessive rowdiness, excessive drinking, smoking, etc. will result in a $1,000 party fine. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 7 am.

4. Be respectful! When using outdoor areas, and other provided amenities, please clean up after yourself so the next guests can enjoy them as well. If something is wrong, low, or out, please let us know so we can fix it.

5. Have fun! Our goal is to host a vacation to remember. If this doesn't sound like a good fit, let us know what you're looking for and we can point you in the right direction. We'll always do our best to make sure you have the best time!

6. Act like a local! Please don't leave trash outside where it will attract bears and other wild animals.  There is a provided trash bin for your convenience.  If you can't get up the driveway in the snow, you may have to park at the bottom and walk a short distance.

Extended stays require periodic mid-stay cleanings. The frequency, whether every two weeks or every three, depends on the duration of your booking. Please be ready to inform us of your preferred day of the week for scheduling these cleanings.
