Rooms are aged and over the years which we have used this hotel on Xian Xia Road, hotel has only done the minimal to upgrade the tired conditions in the room. Not befitting a Grand Mercury designation. This stay was particularly upsetting as hair dryer did not work, shower head was replaced at our request, and toilet wasn’t flushing properly which we expected housekeeping to know and report to management instead of leaving us to complain which they fixed. We have no reason to keep using this Hitel except for the relatively good location close to banks and a walkable distance to two big shopping complexes. Accor Group shows little commitment to the Shanghai market.

Great stay for 3 weeks holiday & remote working!
It was a very nice stay at the Grand Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao. The whole facility looked new and decorated with good taste. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean, good air condition, very fast WIFI. Convenient and quiet location. During our stay, the hotel staff Lavender Huang was especially helpful with our checking and managed our room upgrade with patience, kindness, and professionalism. She was also stationed in the executive lounge most of the time during our stay, and made sure all the needs from our remote working days were met with great service. We like her a lot and are very thankful to her. :) Also thanks to all the hotel managers, who handled our requests with flexibility, and always think the best for the hotel guests. If you want a reasonably priced, English-speaking-guest-friendly hotel, with good service, comfortable facility, nice staff, this would be your choice.

It was amazing our room got the Japanese bear toys all over! They have some festival and randomly decorate the room. Feel so lucky! This is my usual hotel when comes back to Shanghai. Clean and spacious.

I liked the speciality toilet. Automatic flush. Low gpf. Warm seat. I also liked the minimalist toiletries. I didn’t like the WiFi going in an out. Buffet Breakfast options didn’t change for the entire time we were there.
