Beautiful cabin!

Beautiful cabin that met our needs! Roads up to the cabin are strap and were iced over so we had to park 2 vehicles at another location because they couldn’t make it up to the cabin. Previous renters left trash on the back porch and ground which makes me wonder why I had to pay over 200 in cleaning fees if they didn’t clean after the last renters. Otherwise a great cabin! We had a great time!

Nice Cabin - Needs some TLC.

The cabin is beautiful, the view is top notch. We really enjoyed our stay there. We saw bear everyday, they came right up on the deck! Overall, I would say don't hesitate to rent this but be aware of a couple things that need attention: The hot tub, while the instructions to the cabin state that the water is changed on every visit I highly doubt this to be the case. We only got in the hot tub once, it smelled horrible and there was flecks of debris all over the tub. So either they change the water but then don't bother with the filters, or something. But it was not great. And disappointing. It is also very small. The kitchen, the stove top is broken and cracked in many places, it doesn't seem to impact its use however, but there are some edges that might be a concern to get a cut or something. We also noticed a few cockroaches in the kitchen but didn't see them anywhere else. The owner tried to work with us to get an exterminator out, but with my parents and dogs it would have been a huge inconvenience for us. The decking and seating for the decking has nails popping up everywhere that poses a safety concern. There's trash everywhere all over the sides of the hills. I don't know if it is due to the bears getting into trash but could stand to be cleaned up. The drive up to the property is a long winding one lane road. Certain lower profile vehicles may find it to be a challenge.

Great stay

The property was great. We had a few things that were not as stated. The stove top was broken. The refrigerator drawers were broken. The owners were aware and were working to get those fixed. I guess that's part of owing a rental sometimes things get broken. It could have been a little cleaner there was some pet hair on the floors. We went to DG and got a broom it swept up easily. The cabin over all was great. If you want to see bears it the place to stay. We saw bears each day. One friendly bear decided that he wanted to use my granddaughters sippy cup she left one the deck. The children loved seeing the bears. The view was amazing. The road up to the cabin could be challenging especially at night for those who are not used the steep curvy roads. Parking was great even with two full size trucks and two SUVs. Close to Pigeon Forge and close to the state park. The drive to Cades Cove was about 1hour and 15 minutes.

Perfect relaxing stay!

This was our 2nd time in Tennessee. The first time out here, we fell in love with Wears Valley. It exudes everything you imagine Tennessee would be. The house was super spacious. Considering that there were 2 families staying there, it never felt like we were on top of each other. We had visitors. Mamma bear and her cubs with the random appearance of a racoon. The view was breathtaking. The owners were easy to work with and quick to respond. If you're not familiar with the roads of Tennessee, plan your arrival accordingly. The initial trek up to the cabin can be difficult if arriving at night

Franqui Family cabin weekend

Advertised a pool table but didn’t have one which was one of the main activities we look for in a cabin. Lesson learned, won’t stay at a cabin by just the listing!! Otherwise, the cabin was wonderful. We did ask for a later checkout and was not charged for it!! We saw bears within an hour of getting to the cabin!! Overall it was a great getaway even without the pool table.

HUGE Cabin with a Beautiful View!

My family of three stayed at this cabin for a week, and it is an authentic older cabin with nice upgrades and tons of beds, TVs, and space. We are “flatlander tourists” and this was our first time traveling up the narrow, twisty mountain roads, but everyone around us seemed ok with it. Haha. We were pretty nervous traveling up the first couple of times, but it got easier. Luckily, it was great weather that week, but if there is snow, BEWARE. My Honda van made it up there fine on clear roads, but ice would have been a different story. Ans this is a three story cabin with pretty steep stairs in several spots, so if you have trouble navigating steep steps, also beware. (Again, maybe this is normal, but I have an injured ankle and it was tough for me!) We had a couple questions for the owner while we were there and he was very quick to respond! The hot tub was also new and worked very well. Loved the built in cover that even my 10 year old could close with ease. If you’re looking for a large house with room for 2-3 families and lots of kids, this would be ideal. I also love that it was pet friendly! Thanks for sharing this beautiful property with us!

Beautiful views!

Really enjoyed our stay in this cabin! The view from the deck is really beautiful, and we even saw a couple of bears in the back yard. House is large, stocked, and comfortable. Don’t worry if you forget your pillow, this house has a lot of extra ones! For young families - our mini van made it up the mountain to the house (summer and some rain), but there were some prayers on the way up! Since we visit so often, we will be switching out the ol’ mini asap 😂

Excellent view with plenty of room

We had 4 adults and 4 kids stay at the cabin. There was plenty of room and the kids had their own space downstairs with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom down there along with a pool table and tv. Everyone enjoyed the stay and we even got to see a bear passing through the yard. Cabin was clean with plenty of amenities.

Great Cabin

Cabin was clean and in good shape. There was a minor issue with the hot tub that was addressed and resolved right away. Mechanical things break, but they had it resolved right away. Best part was we had a bear in the driveway as we were leaving.

Family Getaway

Overall happy with rental. A few issues here and there. Mainly just a few things that could be upgraded such as tile missing behind main floor tub, the outside hot tub had barely and water was green when we arrived. Leak above shower on lower level. Dripped on people in the shower. Lights over sink didn’t work. Didn’t receive check in email with codes and wi-FI until after we arrived and never received departure email for exit rules. On the positive side though, in the grand scheme, a nice cabin. Nice fire pit and parking area. Nice deck and views. Convenient location. Nice loft area that was closed in for a nice private bedroom.

Wildlife!

Great older cabin! I was apprehensive of the 'open loft' bedroom. To my surprise the loft is now closed off leaving the bathroom outside of the room. Worked perfectly tho! Hot tub is aged but operable. While at the cabin I spent most of my time outside looking at the wonderful views and watching all the wildlife around. We had a momma and 2 cubs visit which was amazing. But PLEASE do not feed them! Momma looks nice and lovable but is extremely aggressive. Overall, fantastic stay and would stay again! Highly recommend!

Peace and Nature

We came to this property to enjoy nature and the views. We were not let down. We sat on the deck and read or talked. Most times we found ourselves just sitting there relaxing. It was nice to have our two dogs with us. In the 7 days we were there we saw 2 momma black bears both with 2 cubs. Another bear also made a couple visits. The microwave was in an awkward spot. My wife and I shoot pool in leagues. We cleaned the felt and leveled the table as best as we could. Realizing that not everyone is a league or tournament pool player. The table was ok for people who don't normally play like us. A short stick for the 3 walls that interfere with a normal shot would be helpful. This was the only drawback for us, but I felt that if you are looking to shoot pool in your spare time, you might just consider enjoying the views. We would return to this cabin and recommend the cabin for anyone seeking a cabin on a mountain and are comfortable with black bears.

Great Getaway. Perfect location, view

The highlight for us was the location….if a visit to the Great Smokey Mountains is the goal, it could not be more centrally located~just perfect for day hikes, chasing waterfalls & living in nature. Loved watching the sunrise on the back porch & having bear sightings each day. Easy access to/from airport. Elvira’s Cafe was a great place to eat close by. Our entire party thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great views

Location is about 15 minutes from the parkway with some steep hills driving up to the cabin which was perfect for us. We didn't want a view of the back of another cabin, a pool or the cars driving on the strip. Communication was very good with Papa Wolf. We had an adolescent bear come up on the porch while we were sitting outside and came within 6 feet. I recommend putting the bench by the stairs to prevent him from coming up for a visit. Basically he was asking “can I have some food?” We yelled and he graciously turned around and left. There are 3 levels. Main level is master bedroom (private bath) kitchen and living room. 2nd level is a king bedroom and bathroom , lower level has a queen bedroom, 2nd bedroom has queen bunk beds, and bathroom, pool table and tv with sitting area, washer/dryer, separate porch with hot tub. Gravel driveway for 2 cars. We will definitely come back

Cabin was everything advertised. No issues to report and internet access worked great. Had a daughter with summer college classes and no one in the house complained about service. Frank responded quickly to any questions through out the process. House was closer to national park than we thought which was convenient. Thanks Frank!
