My husband, his mother, our two children (7 and 9) and myself just returned from a blissful trip to Gatlinburg, TN. We stayed for 8 days over Thanksgiving week. The location of the cabin is superb. It is close to the main strips of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but it's on a mountain so you are not directly next to overcrowded neighbors. The hot tub and fireplace were both great additions. Now the not so great. The driveway is really tight. Like really tight. There are 3 trees marked that might be getting removed so that should help if that happens. We drove our F150 and I had to get out of the truck to spot my husband when he was backing out of the driveway every time. The yard beyond & on the side of the driveway is a steep mountain so there is no room for error on this driveway. Next, it is apparent that the house is owned by a management co and not a second home for a family. Linens, dishes, cleaning supplies were all at a bare minimum. We brought our own hot tub towels (thank goodness!) because none were provided & there were definitely not enough towels for showers and the hot tub both. The cabin has 6 forks in total and most of the pots/pans and dishes are very worn with the bottoms peeling up. We were left 2 dishwasher tablets (for a family of 5 for 8 days! lol!), one dish rag and one dish towel. If we had access to the washer and dryer this would have been better (and speaking of, I have never before this rented a whole house for a week that didn't have access to the washer and dryer on site). There was no extra garbage bags, toilet paper or paper towels. Not the end of the world, but for what we paid for the week I was not expecting it to be so bare bones. The dishwasher works very poorly (like even after running it three times, the dishes were still coming out dirty), the fridge does not have an ice maker and the door shelves on the fridge are all missing. There was no broom or vacuum (I like to keep the place we are staying in tidy, and after a week with our family, there were crumbs on the floor, etc). Again, not the end of the world, just expected a little more in that department for the price. It's a very quiet/cozy cabin and it served our family well for the week!
