Mixed Feelings
The property has the most outstanding views of Lake Lucerne and is situated in a remote spot on the edge of a quiet village. Beautiful area. The garden and hot tub are not well maintained, with the garden being quite overgrown and not as per photos. View from ground floor bedroom was obscured by plants that need to be cut back. Third bed (made of pallets) wasn’t made up on arrival and no linen in the property to allow us to do it ourselves. Owner was quick to reply to my message, but no apology was given and housekeeping brought bedding the next day. Biggest issue was the very stained and dirty mattress in the main bedroom. Obvious and extensive unpleasant stains all over it and they could be seen through the thin sheet. Really off putting and felt unhygienic to sleep on. No mattress protector on the bed. When we messaged the owner for one, he told me the stains were tomato soup that he had spilled on the bed. This is clearly not the case. They sent housekeeping back with an additional sheet to put on so we couldn’t see the stains. This chalet has been extensively and very nicely renovated in recent years, but now needs a fresh coat of paint, the garden desperately needs tidying up, the hot tub requires a service/repair as it leaks and jets are faulty, and a new mattress that’s properly protected. I have emailed the owner directly to resolve these issues as we feel we paid top dollar for the accommodation which fell short. No response from owner unfortunately.

Beautiful home with spectacular views!!
This property was perfect for our family to use as a base for touring the region. Amazing amazing views. Super comfortable home with all the essentials. Please note coffee maker is a nespresso and requires special pods, which are not supplied.
