This luxury Sound view studio is perfect for as many as 2 people and has a high walk score as you can walk to over 26 restaurants and bars within a few blocks of this studio. You’ll be captured by the ever changing views of the Puget Sound; from whales to ships and all sorts of boats, you’ll love just sitting and watching.
The Marina is less than 1/4 mile away, as is everything in this lovely town on the Puget Sound.
Many activities and events happening in town throughout the summer from the Saturday farmers markets (from 10-2) on the Marina deck, to Weds. free concerts in the park, where you can bring a blanket or camp chairs and your picnic (or takeout from one of the many food truck venders) and have a wonderful evening of entertainment and community.
The studio has a kitchenette with a microwave and a mini fridge, so don’t expect to cook in this unit other than heating meals. You have a private separate entrance and the studio has a 3/4 bath with a walk in shower that is also private.
While the studio is attached to my house, it has a double door and locks off in the closet, and guests don’t hear anything from the house side.
The Murphy bed is a queen sized bed and we found it to be very comfortable, as have our guests. Many guests prefer to leave it down their entire stay and there is plenty of room to do so.
The studio has an air conditioning for summer months and baseboard heat (x 2) for winter months & they work well to keep this unit cozy.
You are welcome to use the S side patio on the lower half where the swing and hammock and table and chairs are seasonally. We also provide a barbecue so you can do some cooking outside during the summer months only.
We have high pedestrian scores as you can easily walk to over 26 restaurants and bars within a mile of this location and also to the Marina and walking trails. The Angle Station lite rail is 2 miles away and parking there is free if you want to go into Seattle proper but don’t want the headache of traffic and the expensive parking. The cost is $6 per person round trip and there are numerous stops all the way to the university of Washington(past downtown and stadiums).
Des Moines is centrally located between Tacoma and Seattle and about midway between the two. It’s 20 minutes in good traffic to either downtown Tacoma or downtown Seattle. In poor traffic you can double that time or worse. We suggest you download WAZE app onto your smart phone if you plan to drive in the area as we have lots of users giving the app real time traffic status so you get fast and accurate information. If one route blocks up completely or slows significantly WAZE will automatically reroute you to a faster route taking you around the bad traffic.
There are ferries to take you out to the Island located just North and South of us and both are to Vashon Island.
