Room did not have lamps on night stands, only a ceiling light, could not read at night, no table/chairs, no closet, no luggage rack, no nothing. Very bare. Very old and musty smell. Lots of mold in window due to sweating. Only thing we have to say good is it is right downtown. It was the old Shilo before the Promanade.

Right off the bat, noticed in the bathroom the paint pealing off the wall above the toilet. The bathtub was dirty, not stained. The toilet lid was broken. Then notice the carpet was gross and dirty, the large sheer curtain at the sliding door, has blood or ketchup all over the bottom. . We kept telling ourselves it was ketchup. and there was a large stain on the wall next to the door. The fridge was screeming SO loud, we had to unplug it to sleep. There was No mention of the pool and jacuzzi closed down. After the first night I told the desk clerk all these things, she made a list on a scrap piece of paper. Said we would have them cleaned that day. No one ever came to our room. I had a message that the manager would be in monday. So when we checked out monday, I asked for the manager. she claimed to be, but told me that she can not refund anything until she talks to her manager. So obviously she was Not. After several emails I was offered a discount for another stay. I Will NEVER stay at The Promenade in Seaside again..

We were highly disappointed in the stay. Nothing on the website nor my reservation said anything about the pool & hot tub not being in service, did see any signs stating it. We had to be move to 3 different rooms before we were in a safe, and complete room. We paid $269 per night for the deluxe queen room. The first room, 310, there wasn't a light in the hall leading to the room. It was so dark we couldn't even see the door handle. Very unsafe! Plus, the sliding door didn't have a lock at all, so it couldn't be secured. There wasn't a clothes rod nor hangers in the closet, so we couldn't hang up our clothes. The air conditioner units were right below our balcony and were so loud we couldn't hear the ocean nor each other talking without shouting while sitting on the balcony. They moved us to a new room, 510, but it didn't have a table & chairs, even though that's part of the deluxe room, set up, plus the gas fireplace had the wiring and such exposed due to the bottom plate being half missing and broken. It looked extremely dangerous! There was no way we'd risk turning it on! They moved us to a 3rd room, 512, and we stayed our last night there. It had issues, too, but they were just cosmetic, not dangerous. We, sadly, will never stay here again. It was an enormously disappointing experience. At checkout we were told room changes are very common due to all of the issues with the rooms. Had we known that, plus no pool or hot tub, we never would have booked here.

If there is any remodeling it must be the beachfront rooms that cost more. However the rooms labeled economical was very disappointing and not as relaxing due to cleanliness and noise.

I want to first say that I know everyone is complaining about it being old and out dated , yes it is, but they are working on it. The room was clean, staff was on top of things, very helpful and extremely polite , made you feel very welcome, i gave 5 stars because i know what they are going through and a remodel of that scale is difficult while still operating. They really make you feel welcome and every person was willing to assist with any question I had - rooms cleaned daily. I will definitely be back
