Miramar is a quiet, family-friendly hotel. It was recently acquired by the Pestana group, and when compared to the nearby Pestana Sao Tome, one will notice the differences. That said, we did enjoy our stay and would return again in the future.
What works:
- A/C in the rooms
- The pool
- The restaurant's brick-oven (the pizzas were amazing)
What doesn't:
- The staff's understanding of English (it was harder to communicate here than at the other property)
- The restaurant's menu: it's small and doesn't allow for substitutions. My kids would have enjoyed some fried plantains or chips (french fries), both of which come as sides, but weren't available separately from their respective entrees.
- Wait staff training. While very friendly and accommodating, one at least to occasion we received the wrong food.
