We drove around looking at other beaches and they were all either huge and touristy or tiny with one or no places to eat, but Cala Vedella is perfect. Five restaurants, sandy beach (when you walk out into the water to swim there is just sand and fish), facing the sunset, not troubled by nightclubs or jet skis, but there is paddleboard hire, it's perfect.
The villa was clean, all arrangements perfect (key in numbered combination wall box etc), air con, balcony and view stunning just like the pictures. Parking - there was always a space in the road, pretty near the villa. Free.
I would say only two snags: quite a few mozzies (probably the case for the whole island?) and quite steep hill walk down and back up - but then you want the view, and if you're young and fit it's only 5 minutes. But my over-70 friend did need to stop for a breather half way up.
So - definitely recommended.
