I’m not a Bed and Breakfast type traveler, I normally prefer big hotels where you know what to expect in terms of comfort and space. But in visiting Sancerre, this is not an option. I found La Place Sancerre online and booked it. I was so happy I did. It is an absolutely darling B&B. The young couple owners inherited the property by a grandparent and then spent the next couple years renovating it to perfection. This is like walking into someone’s modern yet completely charming home. The finishes are beautiful and high quality and the room we had was spacious with a balcony overlooking the town square. We were met by the owners who offered us a complimentary glass of Sancerre (of course) welcome drink. The next morning the owners made a delicious breakfast and even made arrangements for a local wine tour and tasting for us. Although we only stayed one night, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and tell everyone to visit La Place Sancerre.

The hosts are great, breakfast super. The rooms are very comfortable and stylish. Excellent quiet air conditioning. Second time here and is becoming are goto when visiting the south of France.

I cannot speak highly enough about Ophelie and La Place B&B. The entire place is stunning and in the most perfect location. We were welcomed so warmly and treated incredibly during our stay, we look forward to visiting again

A beautiful, I would call, boutique hotel, stunningly renovated with superb attention to detail. Restaurants all around within 1 minute walk. Superb breakfast provided with so many home made items and our hosts so friendly.

This was our third stay in this boutique b&b in the heart of Sancerre close to a number of lovely restaurants. It's a modern, well run b&b. The owner makes you feel at home.

A beautiful property in all aspects. Room was large and well appointed. Our host, Ophilie, was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. An amazing location right on the main square of Sancerre. We loved our stay!

La Place is an immaculately clean B&B that is tastefully decorated. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating from extra pillows to recommendations for dinner and wineries. The breakfast was perfect with an assortment of fresh and delicious items. The location couldn’t be better; right on the Sancerre Square.

Beautiful B&B
We stayed here as a stopover having travelled from Beziers in the south. We were pleasantly met by Ophelie who speaks great English. The house is comfortable and tastefully dressed. Our bedroom was equally smart and we had everything we needed including a good night's rest. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality too. A big well done and congratulations to Ophelie and her husband for a successful year of running their B&B and bringing about a lovely place for guests to stay in charming Sancerre. You will not be disappointed staying here we thoroughly recommend the B&B. Tres Joilie. Paula and David

The inn is beautifully decorated and the owner goes out of her way to be helpful. It is centrally located on the square in the middle of the city and is one of the loveliest inns I have stayed in! Amazing!

La Place is fantastic! I stayed there for two weeks while studying at the local French school. It is a beautifully designed property, with the utmost attention to detail, cleanliness, and comfort. It is perfectly located and you feel at home in the town. I stayed in the room with the balcony which had a terrific view of the main square. The breakfast was so beautifully prepared that most mornings I didn’t want to leave for class. Ophélie is so kind and a wonderful hostess. I couldn’t recommend any better place to stay for a perfect holiday in the beautiful town of Sancerre. And just for context, I’m well travelled and not so easy to please!
