Villa Santa Monica is impressive, the building, gardens are beautiful. We even had our private patio. Everything is clean and peaceful The location is excellent, just a few minutes from downtown You want to stay in a historic hotel this is it. Everything about this property and our stay was great. Just something to note for those who may have bad knees there’s steep steps in rooms to be cautious of otherwise everything and everyone is super awesome!

Little gem
This was just the most delightful place to stay. It's run with people that have hearts of gold. We had an amazing time. The courtyard is absolutely delightful. The peacocks are wonderful. The people are amazing. The food was great.

The building is designed in the form of a Spanish 1700s era stucco hacienda with an inner courtyard which is very pleasing. The hotel room was spacious, however, there is no TV and the bathroom is small and needs fixture upgrades. There was only one handtowel provided for 2 people. The bedroom furnishings are old and quaint. There was only one chair in the room. The gas fireplace could be dangerous for a gas appliance inexperienced person when lighting the pilot light. The bathroom cabinet is old and the sink countertop space is limited. Wi-Fi was just OK. The landscaping around the property is quite pleasing and well maintained. One has to be careful walking on the walks, as there are places where there are unmarked steps. They have several budgies in cages distributed around the premises which is a nice touch.

We had a wonderful stay with our family during the Christmas break. The staff are absolutely wonderful and Jorge, the General Manager is extremely helpful and so attentive. They organized a delicious 4 course meal for our family of 12 on Christmas Eve and even had some special activities for our kids and a complimentary birthday cake for my son. Property is beautiful and well maintained. We cannot wait to visit again.

The architecture, staff, location and furnishings are all very beautiful. I did find it a little odd that the room I was in opened onto an outdoor dining area. It was strange to go into my room while skirting diners, though it didn't ever seem too busy.

You can’t find a more beautifully curated place. From the architecture to all of the decorative items so carefully selected and then of course the colorful birds sprinkled throughout just brought this place to life. It feels like you’re in a private oasis right in the middle of the city and the staff is just right amount attentive without being pushy.

The property is so romantic and great for pictures. It’s got a Victorian Spanish vibe. The staff were so nice and best part was ordering taxi service through them. Food was absolutely delicious.

Santa Monica is a beautiful property. We have traveled several times to SMA and this has been our favorite place to stay. You can walk to restaurants, shops, the plaza, the catedral, and other points of interest. All the rooms are unique and beautiful. Just be aware that there is no AC. We were fine with having our windows opened (reminded me to our travels to some places in Europe), but it might get warm in the summer. The restaurant offers a really good breakfast/brunch. For lunch and dinner we opted to go to some of the many restaurants in town. SMA has an amazing gastronomy. Our favorite part of this place were the gardens, many trees, flowers, and peacocks!!

We couldn’t have picked a better hotel than Villa Santa Monica with its location, services, staffs, comfort, its charms and price point. Minutes away from the centro, famous Rosewood Hotel, and the main drag yet tugged away in its own quiet oasis next to a beautiful park. Surrounded by lush vegetation and trees. It was our first trip to San Miguel del Allende and had the best experience. Will definitely stay there again next time. Highly recommended.
