It was quiet and quaint but the room had no air conditioning and it was stuffy and hot when I got in there. There was a noisy old box fan that was much needed but it impacted my sleep. The mattress was stiff and so were the pillows. Too bad because it had an old school motel feel to it that I liked.

We would definitely consider staying again. The price was right. We were able to be comfortable enough for an overnight stay in our rather cramped room. We enjoyed the short walk to the pier and beach and good restaurants. The owners/managers are friendly and pleasant. That said, we noted a few things the management need to attend to. The oscillating fan was quite dirty. There was no heater anywhere. The frig has no freezer compartment. A towel rack or hook is needed by the sink. Curiously, there was plastic covering the smoke detector. We wondered if this was a means of keeping shower steam from setting it off. There is a hole in the "tile" at the upper left of the shower handle that we expect will cause water damage over time. It was a little disconcerting that the shadows of a person in the shower/toilet room were clearly visible from the parking lot when the light was on in the room, which felt like a lack of privacy.

Great location in Pismo, just a few blocks from the beach. Several fun dining options nearby. Room is decent and functional for our needs. Ice machine centrally located. Staff are helpful and welcoming.

Nice remodeled room
Our room was ready early and was recently remodeled. Easy check in and the front desk people were really nice. I love the location. It was easy to walk down to the beach and was closer to everything. Easy parking too. We'll stay here again!

I checked in late (11 pm) and the owner was friendly and quick to get me checked in. I was able to park right outside of my room. The room was clean, had a fan and a little space heater. I was very comfortable and pleased with my stay.

Not Worth the Risk
My room didn't have AC (or heat) and was an oven. The window wasn't openable. There was a floor fan that I put in the open doorway until 11pm to pull in as much night air as I could, but the room heated up again after I closed the door. It's not acceptable to choose between privacy and possible heat exhaustion. This is a health hazard for elderly, small children, etc. I didn't check the listing before making the reservation to check to see if there was AC. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a motel ANYWHERE that didn't have AC. Unless you're absolutely certain you won't need heating, AC or to open a window, you're taking a huge risk staying here. If you do, it's pretty shabby even though it looks like it recently had a paint job - which wasn't done well.

It’s a cute place, but we knew why this room was available. The bed was so noisy, no phone inside the room, no iron, it smelled like cigarettes. If phone inside I would of called for another room but we had unpacked already before sitting on bed and were hungry too. We checked in at approx 7:30pm so pressed for time to go walking. I did advise front desk of issues next day at check out.
