Nice but expensive

It was a nice hotel but didn’t have a value consistent with the room rate. But maybe the San Juan area prices are always high. Also there was a major festival in Old San Juan that may have affected prices.

No onsite restaurant open (evening) only the pool side, while they did their best, it was slow. You can’t tell the property is old and salt damaged outside. Rooms were lovely and spacious (1007) faces the lagoon but it’s a massive room. Not all reservations come with breakfast included, ours did and had to go to the sister hotel across the street. It was great very filling. Very wonderful staff there.

Seem better days.

This hotel has seen better days. It had been over 15 years since I stayed at this property. The hotel seems ‘run down.’ The furniture and decor is somewhat dated. The bathroom shower seems old and leaks around the glass. The water never really gets hot. The pool bar is nice but there are a lack of chairs. The bar didn’t take credit cards either. Notably, the main lobby has only one working elevator — other guests stated that this has been the case for many years. To the hotel’s credit…the power went out on the island but the hotel had an adequate generator to keep power going. The staff is generally nice and the beds are comfortable but otherwise, this hotel is not that great, it needs a major renovation, I would consider other hotels in the area before staying here.

The rooms were extremely dirty. The key cards stopped working everyday. The elevator was very very slow and even stopped working at one point. The staff was okay. Like they hear the complaints so much that they wasn’t really concerned. Tried to change my room and it was worst than the first one.

Hotel is very old and in need of massive renovation. Elevator out of service,no restaurant on site, no cable tv in rooms no room service. overall a poor experience for $500.00/night. crowded beach few umbrellas try somewhere else would not stay again.
