Hotel Aura - great hotel

Hotel Aura is a small boutique hotel in San Bruno. 10 minutes from SFO. The hotel provides limited airport shuttle service. The rooms are generously sized, clean and updated. Bed is comfortable. Included breakfast is a typical U.S. continental breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased. We chose this hotel for its location and included free parking as our stay was in the middle of a California National Parks Tour. Great food options within walking distance 1-6 blocks. Laundromat (Summer’s Laundry) is within walking distance. We will stay here again in the future.

I arrived late in the evening. The check-in process was fairly simple and the front desk staff was helpful. It’s a little confusing how to figure out how to get upstairs when you parked your car in the basement. The vending machine on my floor was non-operational. It would accept the card and then say anything you selected was sold out even though there were a number of items in the case. I realize this is an outside vendor so I just wanted to make the front desk aware when I checked out. That customer service experience was less than optimal. Rather than simply thanking me for making them aware and letting me know, they would contact the vendor. She was rather defensive, letting me know. It was an outside vendor and there’s nothing she could do about it. She was not listening to me. My comment was not an indictment about the service of the hotel, but rather a simple “heads up“ That the vending machine was not working. Other than that, it was a fast and easy stay. It was a good value.

Nice hotel. Staff is friendly. Free parking is great. Free breakfast is decent. Location is close to freeway. Price is great, especially if you're trying to stay outside of SF

good price but the WORST breakfast ever!

the price was good for the SFO area, but the breakfast was the worst we've ever had for ANY hotel offering a free breakfast. also, ALL of the 2nd floor rooms have their doors ON the breakfast area--so you're likely to be woken up at 6am or soon after. BUT, for SFO the price was good.

Very decent and clean hotel , free parking.

Great experience, comfortable beds and pillows, cleanliness is okay, breakfast is okay too, coffe , teas, cereals , etc . Check in was very easy and friendly stuff . Great that they don’t charge for parking, as all hotels do in SF .

Nice stay. The first time, the key card did not work, and I had to go back to get it reprogrammed. Nice safe area and close to SF and free parking. The parking spots are a bit tight, though.

Even though they clean the rooms every 2 days, the sheets were not changed, the beds were not made properly and the carpet and bathroom floors weren't vacuumed. Simply disgusting.
