I rated the overall stay as poor, as the rooms have very poor soundproofing, and the guests in the adjacent rooms had their televisions on until 3:30 am. We had ear plugs, but still couldn't sleep well. If you have a hearing deficit, this would work! I was amazed by the low price, however.

Great Hotel
The hotel is great. The bed is comfortable, it's a good deal. The walls are thin, so there is some hallway noise at odd hours, but that's to be expected in an older building. There's great food options within walking distance. The neighborhood didn't feel super safe, it was very close to parts of the city I wouldn't feel comfortable walking through. Overall still a really great place to stay, just be sure you're aware of your surroundings.

Most of the rooms are connected so you can hear guests in the next room all the time. House cleaning service is bad, they take your towels but dont bring clean. Some of the people at the front desk are cluless

Great hotel!!
overall, great stay. Rooms are large, updated, and clean. We had two rooms- both backed to the stairs- didn’t hear a thing from other rooms or anything like some posts have said. Parking garage right across the street- $35/night. Area was totally fine- lots to do and options for eating or snagging a drink. We didn’t encounter any homeless issues- even walking in the tenderloin. Our new go-to vacay spot for when we visit SF.
