This property is in a complex with several outdoor retailers, a skate park, a bouldering gym and a sauna. Nearby at the Woodbine Food Hall there were many excellent dining options. There were also quality breweries nearby. I really enjoyed my stay, everyone at the hotel was really helpful and their small bar with a outdoor balcony was really nice as well.
First couldn't really find it, then parking sucked no spaces for hotel guest. A few homeless but they kept to themselves. The rooms were not like I've been to before no privacy curtains, not enough lights to have so other guest don't get disturbed. No plug-ins for multiple devices. Dust everywhere. We stayed in rooms the Tv didn't work. I enjoyed the sauna. Would like to see this place look a little like in Japan lol. The price we paid was like getting a hotel room. Upgrade then I'll go back. To some this place is nice cool but not for us.
Probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed. It was well maintained and had all the amenities for an adventurer. Love how it has rooftop bar with nice view to enjoy a nice bevie after a long day.
My only issue, which is more of a preference, is the height of bunk bed. Wish it was little higher so you don’t bang your head every time you get in/out of bed. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and will definitely book it again on my next SLC trip.
This is a hostel in a hotel inside of a rock climbing gym. That is the hierarchy. The place was really nice. In a bad area but theres parking so thats a plus. The common areas were cool. It was weird you couldn't turn a main light on in the room. Also, the locker rooms which act as a surplus bathroom incase the one in your room is occupied, Seemed to close late at night. Kind of pricey for a hostel. The free pass to the skate park i guess is supposed to offset that.
Stayed in the female dorm.
Positives:
- newish-feel, great vibe
- inside of property is really funky with nice common areas; multi-purpose building
- your stay might include a free pass to the bouldering gym located in the same complex
- bed was quite comfortable
- great view from the cocktail bar on the 2nd floor
- staff are nice
Negatives:
- no light in the room! They have disconnected the main light by glueing the light switch!
- the one lamp in the room, but had a low-watt bulb
- lockers are tiny
- no fresh air, can't open windows
- room is above the bouldering gym...which means if you want to open the blinds of your windows, everyone below might see you.
- no obvious signage as to what time quiet hours are in the dorm. Should be loudly displayed so the people aren't showering at 2am!
- there are no curtains or blinds covering your bed/quiet area. Many hostels have a 'curtain' that gives you full privacy as you lay in bed
This place is great. My first time staying at a hostel and I already can tell no other will compare. Every time I have to come down there I for sure will be staying there again
I’m a huge fan of this place! Probably one of the coolest, most unique places I’ve ever stayed. The rock climbing area is incredible and the weight lifting area is top tier, everything you’ll need and then some, plus a sauna! Rooms are nice enough for a hostel, and probably better than most other hostels. Each bed has its own mini shelf and outlet for charging, plus you’ll have your own mini locker. If you can get passed the idea of not having your own privacy when sleeping or taking a dump in peace then this place is great! But if your in-room bathroom is occupied, just go to the men or women’s locker room there’ll be plenty of stalls and showers for you to choose from! The lounge area is cool and has a good selection of books of you want to kill time. I will definitely be back!
The hostel room is within a hotel called EVO, and when I asked them to change rooms because I felt unsafe because of another guest's behaviour, they said they weren't able to do anything to help because they weren't responsible for the hostel bookings. This was a stressful situation and wasn't able to sleep well because of this.
Other than that, the facilities were fantastic.
