Excellent location and very clean accommodations. This ryokan is just around the corner from the famous bell tower, beautiful warehouse (shopping) area and candy alley. The bath is not in your room, but you reserve your time, so it’s private. The breakfast was extraordinary!
I want to say I loved this place because it is beautiful, the room was nice andd peaceful and breakfast was great. But firstly, the address listed on Google is incorrect and since no one speaks English to help us find the address we took the wrong 3 trains to the opposite side of town, tried to call the hotel with no answer. Most upsettingly we tried to ask for help and rang the bell at the front counter checking out and they literally turned off the lights at the front desk and went to another room and closed the door. We can't even call a cab because we need help to use the phone as the taxi apps and Uber aren't working here. It feels very discriminatory and hurtful. I'm honestly shocked we can't get help. It's been 35 minutes and they won't come out to help so we are sitting in the dark lobby trying to hail a cab out side at 1:30pm in the afternoon.
I'm truly shocked and have never experienced rude service like this. Definitely feel we are not welcome or wanted here.
I stayed for one night for the Kawagoe festival, and it's great as it's right in the middle of where all the activity is. It's also quite convenient and not too far from Kawagoe Station.
It was really nice stay! For foreign visitor to Japan, there are nice Japanese traditional decoration and the interpretation in English. The amenity such as Yukata, bathing items and tea set was also nice. I will recommend here to my foreign friends.
