Summary:
Newly completed in 2020, the Tiny Art House is the product of my passion and drive for creating. Everything inside (and out) is either hand painted, sculpted or refinished. As a local artist, I’m excited to be a BNB host and thrilled to invite you for a stay. Traveling is my hobby. Kindness is my religion.
The Space:
The Tiny Art House is a 200 Square space with a colorful and artsy vibe. Its just minutes away from shops, local breweries, McGeorge School of Law, the Golden 1 Center and bustling midtown. The UC Davis Med Center is but a few skips away, too.
My goal is to give each guest a great lodging experience. I can only hope that part of this is achieved through art and the unique, cozy space I've worked hard to create.
Please Note:
Regular yard maintenance is scheduled once a week between the hours of 4 and 6pm. A maintenance person may be in the backyard area during this time.
The indoor space is also rather small and cozy. Please be ready for tiny!
Be mindful of water usage.
Like the art displayed in the home? It’s also available for purchase! Your booking supports local artists. Thank you!
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the backyard area, including the outdoor patio and the gravel driveway for parking. Please do not sit on the lifeguard chair - it is decorative only.
The Neighborhood:
Oak Park is a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. The area is generally quiet, but sometimes ( on the weekends/evenings) there are the occasional festivities. The house is about a 7 minute walk from the always fun broadway triangle; an area with great shops, breweries, and a kick ass gift store. I love the Plant Foundry (nursery and garden) and i think you might, too.
Also, if you're stopping by in the Summer months (May - September) I highly recommend a visit to Oak Park Gather- a neighborhood event featuring local food and beverage vendors, cool crafts AND live music!
Getting Around:
If you get the chance, try the city's newest form of transit - electric bike and scooter sharing! JUMP Bikes/ scooters are becoming more and more popular in the area and are a really fun way to get around. Of course Uber and Lyft are everywhere too!
Public transportation runs up and down the main cross street (Broadway); although I'm not the best with navigating the routes. Midtown is a 5 minute car ride away.
If you have a car, please park for free on the street or in the gravel driveway! Feel free to close the wooden gate behind you.
Other Things to Note:
There are 24/7 external security cameras. Smile!
Everything in the tiny house is small; including the hot water heater. Please Limit hot showers to 5 minutes per person.
Please do not sit on the outdoor lifeguard chair. It is decorative only.
NOTE: We do NOT HAVE cable services. We offer streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, Prime, & Hulu. (Guest has to use their own Netflix account)
Interaction with Guests:
The entire home (all 200 sq feet) is available for access. There is an average sized backyard and a small porch area for lounging and outdoor dining. You're also welcome to swing on the tree swing!
PARKING: If you have a car, you can park on the street in front of the house OR in the gravel driveway.
Feel free to close the wooden driveway gates behind you.
At the front door, you can wave "Hi" to the outdoor Nest Video Camera.
When you walk in, just say "Alexa, I’m home!"
I leave basic household information near the kitchen counter - wifi, tv navigation, lights (alexa), temp control instructions , etc. I've lived in Sacramento now for over 20 years. If you'd like advice on where to go for great food, entertainment or even a leisurely hike, just let me know ;).
If you need anything else, I can meet, you can message, or we can call.
