The property was dated and a little grungy - the carpet in our room was stained and sticky and there were stains on the pillowcases and towels. The location was wonderful easy to get to everything and parking was awesome. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice staff that is there to help and get you what you need during your stay. I stayed one night to attend Aftershock 2024 and I needed my show wrist band snipped, and a staff member came up, and cut it off my wrist. Nice service.

Perfect location in downtown Sac
The location was perfect for our trip. We went to a concert at Golden One, so we were able to grab dinner and walk to the concert in minutes! The staff were welcoming and friendly. The beds were small and slightly uncomfortable. We selected to park in the parking garage, which wasn't far; however, we took the stairs to walk down to the hotel, and let's just say it was grossly unsanitary. It reeked of urine, and you have to pay attention to not step in urine.

It was amazing! Got to meet so many new people that were attending the same event! The works were so nice! Even had a situation where there was a man sitting outside our room we called the front desk and they sent security right up and had him removed fast!

Staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Our rooms air conditioner was too loud (probably broken) and the fridge was leaking. The hotel immediately fixed the problem and quickly moved us to another room.

Check-in is at 3pm. We arrived at 3:05, tried to check-in. I was told room wasn’t quite ready to give them 5 minutes. Then I was told it was 30 after the 5 minutes had passed. Then the 30 minutes turned into 1 hour. After the 1 hour I was given a different room on a different floor then my relative as we wanted to be on the same floor. But their rooms wasn’t ready either. We all stayed in different floors. They were just unorganized I could tell.

We had an issue in the morning with the shower which we could not use in room 831. The on/off handle was frozen shut and was impossible to turn. Can't believe someone didn't know that. The desk asked if we wanted them to send up a maintenance person to fix it. That would have caused us to sit around and wait who knows how long. We were asked what we wanted them to do. I asked for another room where the shower worked. Why did I have to request it instead of accommodating us? We were give another room (730) and had to move all of our travel bags. The wasted time resulted in us missing our journalist writers meeting. We were very disappointed, as we stay at this Holiday Inn when working/visiting in Old Sac. The question is -- Doesn't anyone ever run the water in the bathtub? Is the bathtub cleaned on a regular basis? If so, someone would know the on/off handle didn't work. Please fix it for the next person who is assigned to that room. Other than that, the staff is very nice at this hotel, especially Sunita, Linda, and Jada. (and the girls in the restaurant area - don't know their names).
