it's like a motel
the pillow smells like poop. as soon as we entered the room, it smelled like dusty. my whole body was itching when i laid on the bed.

I have stayed at this hotel quite a bit and will continue to do so whenever I have medical appointments at UC Davis that requires I stay overnight. This hotel is within the UC Davis campus, which is really convenient for those getting medical care and traveling great distances. This trip, the hotel is starting to show it's age. The television system would not turn on, requiring a technician to rewire the system, and then it would not turn off. I had to disconnect the AC power to the TV to shut it down. The elevators are getting creaky and noisy. Parking used to be free, now there is a fee. The food from the Bistro is simple, but very good and remarkably not over priced. Staff has always been great.

Hotel was in good condition. Parking is not free and is paid separately. Breakfast is not free. I opted to buy breakfast thinking it was a buffet because one of the emails said "buffet." It is not. You order from a very limited menu and then wait for your food. Total ripoff. Staff was meh.

We were there for one night, and for room 236, they had previous knowledge that the shower handle to turn on/off was an issue and it broke. Also, the phone charging station on the night stand closest to the bathroom did not work at all for the usb and both plug ins. There was no pillow for the pull out bed either. We were moved to 336 after 10pm and there were no sheets for the pull out bed, so had to request, but there was a pillow. The shower drain flooded/backed up when we simply turned the water on and during showering. It was not a good experience given we were only scheduled for one night. I would also suggest installing quieter a/c units; they are so loud and makes it difficult to sleep.
