My deep concerns regarding health and safety
On arrival my 85 year old mother and I discovered that the Park was actually closed until the 11/02/2022 and we should have not have been actually staying there. Even more concerning was that the caravan was cold and the boiler was not working and that it had evidence of soot and scorching around the ignition point. There was a blank National Caravan Commissioning notice attached to the boiler cupboard and a half torn off safety gas safety advice notice also. We sought the advice of two maintenance men working on a nearby caravan who agreed with our findings and that it did not seem safe to remain though did suggest using the gas hob as a source of heat until we could move. We chose to leave and find last minute alternative accommodation elsewhere in Camber, away from the Park. We have had several conversations with the Safety Officer at the site Daniel Day and shared the unpleasant and defensive emails I had received from the owner at the time, during which I remained polite but concerned and anxious. Mr Day was planning to visit the caravan, speak to the owners and share his concerns with his manager. I am also concerned of the legalities regarding sub-letting during official Park closure when it is not due to re-open until the 11/02/2022. I am seeking a full refund and will be taking further advice in view of the potential very real health hazards.
