Good location
This hotel is at an excellent location for visiting the main street and highlights of the town. The restaurant Peder Hiort Mathus had good food and a good selection, so we went there twice.

Their Saturday evening buffet dinner (julebord) was out of this world for a meat/fish lover. I have never experienced anything like it for variety. I counted 60+ different meat/fish dishes. Made with love. The lobby area is a great place, our room plain but nothing wrong with it.

På Bergstaden er det mye enten eller. Enten er det bra, eller så er det dårlig. Lite midt i mellom, utenom helhetsinntrykket. Positivt: Gode restauranter. Gode råvarer til frokost. Flott og behagelig spa-avdeling. God beliggenhet. Fin resepsjon. Negativt: Slitte, gamle og små rom og bad. Vondt lukt fra bad og dårlig trykk i dusjen. Dårlig ventilasjon. Ikke de beste sengene. Ingen mini-bar på rommet. God, men begrenset frokost for de som liker å spise litt variert (Kun 1-varmrett per gjest). Du får med andre ikke havregrøt og egg, eller egg og pannekake om du vil ha det.
