Unique and affordable accommodation
We enjoyed every moment of our stay and appreciate all the effort and expense given to provide such a memorable night of our trip home. So many personal touches and thoughtful choices to make this place so special inside and out. Heritage building with immense character and history oozing from its walls to soak up while having all the necessary up to date amenities included also. Just an amazing place!

Stayed here for 3 nights as a solo female traveller. Didn't feel unsafe here at any point. The facilities are lovely and clean. The room had high ceilings and a spa which was nice. The location is great - walkable distance to the CBD. There's also a pub directly across the road which has really affordable and generous steak dinners that's definitely worth trying if you stay here. I personally found that the sound of the trains themselves wasn't that much of an issue. It was more so that you can definitely hear the train's horn go off at cars crossing the tracks (as there's no boom gates) so beware if you're a light sleeper. Of course this is at no fault of the hotel and they do provide earplugs in the room. Overall, great stay and definitely would recommend staying here if you're visiting Rocky.

The room has a grand feeling of Europe, the high ceilings and spa give it a lux feel. The bed is super comfortable and the tavern across the road serves a great meal and country atmosphere. Stay away from the big chains and support this place, you won’t be disappointed.

Rooms need a proper airing, as they are stuffy, I slept with the windows open and the toilet extractor fan on, all night . The western rodeo bar across the road made the stay memorable

We enjoyed our stay, the decor is quite different, loved the super king four poster bed. Our room was huge. The location was okay as we were only staying overnight. Lots of breakfast options and cheap at $12.50, just nothing freshly cooked eg. Eggs and bacon. A few trains went by which the first was a shock but we were fine with the two others. They did have ear plugs in the room if you wanted to use them.

For a four-star hotel, I was shocked and disgusted with my room and the service at the Denison Boutique Hotel. I read the reviews prior and thought it would be a good place to stay while on a work trip in Rockhampton. However, I couldn’t wait to get out of there as the room was filthy and I could hardly sleep. The amount of dust was unbelievable. It seemed it must have had only a very quick once-over by housekeeping. Also, to shower I had to step or climb over a large spa, which I found difficult, and the water didn’t drain properly. In fact, at one stage the grey water pooled up past my ankles. When I made a complaint to the staff, nothing was done. I was thoroughly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
