I’m glad I listened to most of the reviews for this place. We came for the sheep farm, but in the end this manor made the stay worth the scary drive from Hualien.
From the beginning, they made us feel like special guests. The valet driver understood my hesitation to park my rental car in these small tight spaces and asked if he can take over and then he parked the car with so much ease. Then we were directed to the lobby where our hostess explained to us about our stay while another hostess served us warm tea and biscuits.
I mentioned how we were very early for our check in and they said it wasnt a problem and our room was already available. Then the hostess showed us around the premises and our room. Explained all the various activities and times they are available. I was a bit hesitate to stay here for the pictures dont do the actual place justice. Also the price seemed a bit high, but the reviews kept mentioning how it was worth it and they were right. We have paid more in other places of the world for far less then what we received here. Some say this was a b&b because it only has 19 rooms. It felt more like a mini luxury hotel with a b&b atmosphere only because it was like 3 homes on one large lot. I recommend this place 100%. Its definetly one of our top 5 hotels and the food, the service, the Madriga Suite we stayed in was all excellent. Taiwan isnt a tipping country, but I tipped everyone. The service was just that good.
This hotel is not new but very well kept. The ambience and both interior and exterior decors are special and unique. Simply stunning and amazingly gorgeous. Service is excellent and the daily musical appreciation activity is a must-go. No words can describe the unforgettable experience staying in this great hotel.
Hotel is expensive but worth the $$! Service is excellent. Hotel is beautiful. They were very accommodating to our request. They responded to my emails pretty promptly before my stay with them. If I go back to Cingjing, we'll stay there again.
Beautiful manor near CingJing grassland. Get the breakfast and dinner package at NT1500, the courses at dinner was really delighting. Catch the nightly musical for free with drinks, good music sharing and excellent sound system. Overall pricey but enjoyable.
We stayed two nights at The Old England Manor as a birthday celebration. The hotel surprised us with a birthday cake and free red wine. Service was excellent, as was the hotel environment. Our room was very spacious and we enjoyed the hotel amenities, dinner and evening concert very much. We definitely recommend this hotel!
Very good n beautiful place, enjoyable n relax visit! The breakfast was fresh and good taste I've ever experienced.

A lovely and nice English-themed hotel
The building was nice and its surrouding offered an awesome view of the scenery, overlooking mountains, lake, greenery and even clouds in the clear blue sky. The feeling was awesome and great. Though it was quite sunny and warm day, with the cooling winds, it was soothing and refreshing. Upon entering the garden compound, we were impressed with the lovely English architectural designed hotel and its affiliated buildings. The first feeling was whether was I in English!!! (it somehow brought back my fond memories of my visit to English earlier in June this year). I was puzzled how come such a nice structure could be found in Taichung at 1700m mountain area above sea-level. Unfortunately the hotel service needs improvement on special request with front desk "James" in celebrating my mother in-law birthday but hotel failed to accommodate and had forgotten. Well it's okay but we had a infant baby joining the stay and was offered if we need a baby tub and apparently again they had forgotten so therefore i think their customer service can be improved and not to treat guest like a business transaction without putting some thought to their stay & accommodation.
