One of Donegal's most significant ports, Ramelton has a rich history. In the 1800s, ships from the Caribbean came here to export the village's linen. Even though the area is now quieter, there are still a lot of friendly local businesses that welcome tourists, and there are plenty of chances for golfers and fisherman. Beaches at Rathmullan and Dunfanaghy are both close by, as is the charming Fanad Head.
