Cold Creek Homestead is nestled on the border of Northumberland and Hastings counties near the rural village of Wooler. We raise chickens for eggs and honey bees. We have a large market garden and several fruit trees. We have a wide range of homemade items such as jams, jellies, baba ganoush, pesto, honey, etc., depending on the season. We're always trying something new. The 35 acre property backs on to Cold Creek which can be accessed by a 1.5 km walking trail. We own a local bird feeding/watching and nature store and have set up a bird feeding station directly outside the apartment window.
Within 30 minutes are several lovely Ontario towns including Brighton, Warkworth, Cobourg, Campbellford, Frankford, and Trenton. The Waterfront Trail and Prince Edward County are at your doorstep. Plenty of provincial parks and conservation areas offer excellent beaches, hiking, swimming, cycling and birdwatching. There are dozens of craft breweries and wineries, farmer's markets and one of Ontario's best waterfront patios, all nearby. Many of the local farms are open to the public for apple and berry picking, and several offer an opportunity to meet their animals. Come experience our sustainable, country lifestyle!
