Balcony Room was a Hit!
We loved our stay at the Hotel Palace Royal. We had a balcony room overlooking the atrium and pool, which was one of the highlights of the stay. Lots of people spent time on their balconies, which contributed to a sense of community that is rare in most hotels. The hotel offered entertainment nightly, which wrapped up by 10pm each night. The pool was a delight. The room was comfortable for our family of 4. Our kids slept on the pull-out sofa bed. There wasn't a ton of convenient storage so we got creative. The hotel is conveniently located with an easy walk into the old city but also easy access to the highway for day trips. The restaurants and coffee shops near the hotel were excellent, and when we stayed, an ice rink was set up in front of the Palais Montcalm.
