Disappointing stay
I stayed here with my husband, our three young kids (ages 4, 3 and 4 months) and my mom for one week.
Pros: the house is large and the pool is nice. The Cap Cana area feels safe and the nearby beaches are beautiful. (We went to Eden Roc beach club every day but access was not included with the home).
Cons: the house is not family friendly. There is a steep stone spiral staircase to get to the two bedrooms upstairs which felt unsafe for us to carry the baby up or for my 70 year old mom to use. There is a front door but no back wall of the house so bedrooms open up directly to the outside, which also felt unsafe. Our toddlers could not stay in a room by themselves because there was no way to keep them from walking straight out into the pool at night, or to keep intruders out. The home is advertised as being on the golf course which is technically true, but the golf course is very narrow at this part and the house is highly visible to all traffic entering and leaving the neighborhood. Again, a major security concern since there is no back wall to the house. The stones around the pool were extremely smooth so as soon as they got wet our kids fell multiple times. The final straw for us was the staff. We stayed at a home in Casa de Campo last year with a maid and butler and it was such a wonderful experience we were looking forward to having the help again but the staff here was lazy, unhelpful and not particularly friendly. Would not stay here again.
