Our BEACHFRONT Bungalow in Punta Uva

An ideal beachfront location! Looking for that perfect romantic getaway on the beach or even a family getaway? "Our Beachfront Bungalow" may be just the right choice for you. Our Bungalow is located on the Punta Uva Beach, which was listed as the best beach in Costa Rica by Forbes Magazine in the article titled "The Best Caribbean Beaches For 2019: The Ultimate List". TripAdvisor has Punta Uva Beach ranked as # 3 out of 10 of the top best beaches in Costa Rica!

Wake up each morning with the sounds of the ocean, and enjoy your cup of coffee on the front veranda while watching the waves crashing on the sand! Located near a private cove on Punta Uva beach, guests will enjoy snorkeling, surfing, swimming, or just plain relaxing - just steps from the house. This newly remodeled 3 bedroom 2 bath house is outfitted with quality amenities and comforts. Take just a few steps from your private bungalow and enjoy the warm turquoise Caribbean waters or relax under a coconut palm in your hammock by the beach.

Punta Uva also offers kayaking, surfing and swimming. Nearby surfing is just a few hundred yards away on Playa Grande. You can also take an exciting hike up the bluff just 50 yards away, which will take you onto a trail that highlights massive century old trees, all sorts of wildlife, a hidden tunnel going through a cave, and ending with a viewpoint of the entire coastline to the North and South.

Just another 100 yards in the other direction from the house is a local bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach - with highly recommended seafood specialties.

Guests can rent a car, but when staying at "Our Beachfront Bungalow", one is not necessary. We can arrange bike or moped rentals to get around, but you'll see that most of your time will be kept in the vicinity of the house.

The house has three bedrooms, each with a window to the yard and each with its own AC unit. The master bedroom, with views to the Caribbean Sea from the bed, has its own private bathroom that includes both an indoor shower and an outdoor shower. Each bedroom has closets with plenty of hanging space and shelves to give you room for storage. The house also includes a safe with lock and code for safekeeping and is large enough to house a laptop computer. Ceiling fans are located in every room as well. Each bathroom, including all showers, and the kitchen has hot water.

The yard boasts an arrangement of footpaths meandering through a garden filled with exotic tropical plants and fruit trees. A private path through the coconut palms puts you in the water on the beach.

The property is located within the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge, where you can arrange a number of outdoor and wildlife activities including guided jungle hikes, horseback riding on the beach or jungle, dolphin tours, fishing, kayaking and many other options.

Bed and bath linens are included with the house, but personal laundry service is not included.
During your stay at this vacation home, you're just a quick walk from Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo. Enjoy your stay with amenities like free WiFi and a kitchen in the vacation home.
  • Air-conditioned home with kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and patio
  • Free WiFi
  • Steps from Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Gandoca-Manzanillo and 6 minutes by foot from Punta Uva Beach
  • Pets welcome for a fee

Perfect getaway!
Staying at this property in Punta Uva, Costa Rica, was a dream come true. Nestled between lush rainforest and pristine beaches, it offered a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The property itself was immaculate and well-maintained, exuding a charm that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, providing us with excellent recommendations for local dining and activities. We especially enjoyed the tranquility of the mornings, sipping coffee on the veranda while listening to the sounds of the ocean, howler monkeys, and visiting macaws. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, this place has it all.

Beyond Our Wildest Dreams
For our anniversary in 2023, we planned a Costa Rican adventure on the Caribbean. We found this house and it looked perfect for our family, with three adolescents. Unfortunately we had a medical emergency that forced us to postpone. The owners were incredibly gracious and allowed us to reschedule for February 2024 with no fees or penalties. When we finally arrived, we were greeted by a mama sloth with a baby in the yard!! And it only got better from there. The property was immaculately clean and everything was just so gorgeous. The beach is incredible and during the week it felt completely private. The house staff were incredibly responsive at all hours with any questions or issues that we had. Pablo was especially helpful and patient with scheduling our activities, which included horseback riding on the beach and visiting the Jaguar Rescue center and the Ara project. (We especially recommend Ara - you can stand amidst the green macaws in the wild, flying all around you!) Our trip wouldn’t have been half as incredible without this amazing team. We had several amazing meals at the Arrecife restaurant right down the beach. Gary the chef is an artist. Get the catch of the day and also the rice with lobster! He also organizes great tours. We felt very safe at all times and had no problems with people on the beach. Unlike other reviews, we liked seeing Costa Rican families gather there on the weekend. What a way of life! Thank you for the best vacation we’ve ever had! Pura vida!

Beautiful place
The location and the Bungalow is beautiful. Just a few steps to a beautiful beach and surrounded by nature. However, a big downside is the public beach access next to the property- specially on the weekends. This allows for excursions full of people every weekend . They take over the front of the property use it as bathrooms and if you don’t pay attention they also get inside the property which is a shame.

Fantastic Location
Super nice house, with great yard, and steps from the water. If you are coming with others, you’d better discuss who will get the master bedroom ahead of time, because it is much, much nicer than the other two rooms. The other two are fine, but the master is ridiculous. The weekends get pretty busy in the area, and there is more noise/people, so if you plan any all day excursions, that would be the best time to be away. The week days are pretty quiet and mellow. And the nights were always quiet. Felt like a pretty safe area. We had two women in our group, and they both went for long walks solo, and they both felt comfortable doing so. The beach, and water right in front of the house are awesome, and there is a restaurant (Arrecife) about 100 yards down the beach that has solid food, and really good drinks (we were there almost daily, and sometimes twice). La Sirena nearby is also very tasty, and a quick walk. Very nice house - great yard - awesome beach - food and drinks nearby - hammocks, outdoor shower, clothesline, a/c in the bedrooms, adequate kitchen - pretty close to perfect for the three of us - really enjoyed our stay.

We loved this house!
This property is a little slice of paradise! We loved our stay here and didn’t want to leave! The house is comfortable, secure and nicely decorated. Screened windows, and well equipped kitchen. No microwave, but we planned accordingly. The lighting inside and outside is fantastic, and we loved the outdoor shower too. Thoughtful touches include filtered water, two comfy hammocks, chairs and towels to take to the beach, and an outdoor grill. The dining table outside has fun lighting also. We ate all our meals there and played games on it nightly. A/C in the bedrooms was appreciated by some of our party. My husband and I stayed in the master, with doors and windows open on either end for airflow, and it was perfect. We enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the surf, and waking to the howler monkeys just down the road. As other reviewers mentioned, there is a public beach access very close to the house, so the beach does get more crowded on weekends. Thanks to reviews, we knew this going in, and planned our beach days accordingly to be there when it was not crowded. From the house, there is easy access to almost everything. We had rented a car, so we made little trips to get groceries, go to restaurants, or just explore. Rainforest hiking all around. There is a restaurant & bar about five minutes from the house and walkable by beach or road, which we enjoyed as well. Our favorite excursion was a super affordable rental of kayaks, which we paddled up a small river just north of the house, off of Playa Arrecife. We saw monkeys, crabs, turtles, bats, birds and a sloth. So fun!! Even in the yard of the rental house we were able to enjoy big butterflies, leafcutter ants, and birds. Green Macaws visited several times. Nice ocean view from the house, through the tropical foliage. That reminds me that I forgot to mention how beautifully landscaped the yard around the house is. Rent this house and have a wonderful vacation! :-)

Steps from the beach. Very secure. Good working a/c in both bedrooms. Attentive cleaning staff. We stayed there for two weeks without a car and found it no problem. Highly recommend.

Great location and sweet bungalow!
We could not have been happier with the bungalow! Very relaxing, so close to the beach, nice garden, the outdoor shower was a hit and the inside of the bungalow was clean and met our needs. We prepared breakfast and lunch ourselves, and went out for dinner each day. Oh, and the sloth living in the tree outside was a great bonus! Wish we could have stayed longer.
