Beautiful Property with Cons
This property was beautiful, there is no doubt about that. There were some cons for us that will not have us coming back. I do want to highlight that the property and location is wonderful. The linen, living space, bedrooms are all designed with thought and great taste- and are comfortable. The kitchen is small, but you can see that in the pictures so it is to be expected. It came with everything you would need, included a pantry with staple items- plenty of seasoning, storage, as well as a nice coffee bar. You are expected to wash your dishes and put them away before leaving. There is no dishwasher. I am not a fan of this, mainly because I do not trust previous tenants to do this properly, and there is a big cleaning fee. No one wants to do chores on vacation so I can see this chore not being done well. Personal opinion. If you are sensitive to being cold, the home does not overall heat up, you are reliant on space heaters. There are plenty to chose from. The biggest con for us was the smell. The home has an overwhelming constant smell of campfire. The smell was not outside, only in the home. We did not use the fireplace in the property. For one, if you use it- you have to clean it all out before checking out- another chore. Not only did we smell of campfire our entire trip, but so did everything we brought home- clean clothes and all. It really was a damper to the trip and a headache!! The host was contacted about it and he was easy to reach.
