Your Safe Haven in the Heart of Metropolitan Portland

Enjoy a unique stay in one of Portland’s most published and celebrated home and acre garden. This serenely beautiful 19th century Queen Anne Farmhouse in the heart of Portland has been completely re-imagined by the artists and craftsmen of Lonesomeville to create a private world all it’s own. Each aspect was carefully designed and hand built to make the entire acre a unique piece of art.

The first floor features a huge kitchen with banks of French pane windows looking out over the original farmstead and garden. A gas fireplace in the kitchen adds a warm ambiance to any evening. The kitchen also features two large service pantries with complimentary espresso, french press coffee, locally made bagels, orange juice, assorted wines, beer and other beverages. The dinning room features walls of enormous French pane widows looking onto the completely private gardens. The front rooms feature a large fireplace, comfortable seating and unique art. A large front porch, deep back porch and kitchen side sun porch round out the many ways to enjoy this amazing house.

On the second story enjoy two large bedrooms with queen and double beds, mezzanine library stocked with hand selected books, a cozy gas fireplace, side sun porch/sitting room, and completely restored bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower all carefully hand crafted.

NOTE: Although we encourage all of our guests to enjoy the house and grounds with friends and family during their stay, due to neighborhood restrictions we are not able to host large events on the property.

A place of wonder

The beauty, quality, thoughtfulness, and grace instilled into LoneSomeVille makes it unlike any other place we've been. There is so much to marvel and appreciate that stretch beyond imagination and description. We were inspired by our stay in many ways and often talk about the tiniest little details and the huge impression that was left upon us. The hosts are delightful and couldn't be more accommodating.

A little piece of heaven!

We were in Portland for our daughter’s wedding. The house and gardens are so beautiful. The hosts are exceptional. Our 7 year-old grandson was enchanted. Very gracious, lovely, thoroughly enjoyable. We didn’t want to leave. Thank you for letting us stay.

A work of art to experience

As much as I don’t want to recommend for selfish reasons because I don’t want this secret out, I can not tell a lie. This home is so beautiful and charming at every turn, as are the hosts. We will definitely be coming to stay again. Pictures could not do this masterpiece justice in her looks, charm & comfort. The hosts were available for questions & conversation but not intrusive in the least. The garden alone is worth staying for, but all creature comforts were met abundantly

Another wonderful stay at this house

My husband and I stayed here last year and we booked it again for this year. The house is absolutely beautiful and it does wonders for your stress levels which plummet as soon as you walk through the door. Our host Wayne is a delight and very responsive to any request. We had another perfect stay and intend to repeat next year. Thank you Wayne and see you next year!

Garden paradise

We have stayed at multiple VRBOs in the last 4 years and this was by far the best. From the gorgeous gardens, to the perfectly decorated home, to the warm welcome and attentiveness by the owners, we couldn’t have asked for more. We loved getting up in the morning to have tea in the grand room in front of the windows by the fireplace. This may be the first time we were sad to leave a rental. Even our teenagers were impressed by how beautiful this rental is. Would love to stay here again!

The Most Beautiful House

We cannot say enough good things about this rebuilt and reimagined victorian era farm house. The attention to detail, the immaculate paint and painting, the pottery, the art work, the design, the color families, and so much more. Then there are the well kept gardens that are even more beautiful than the house. The various flowers, sitting areas, paths to follow and explore is more than one could possibly hope for. We had fun just sitting on the wrap around porch watching a mother bird feed her hungry brood. The hosts were gracious and considerate and some of the most talented artists one would hope to meet. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time in Lonesome Ville and hope our travels might bring us this way again someday soon. Thanks so much for sharing your little bit of Eden with us! Skip and Julie

Glorious

This was by far the most magnificent place we ever have stayed. The yards felt like we were staying in a Botanical Gardens filled with a stunning variety of flowers. …and the house was gorgeous filled with their amazing art work, perfect lighting in every room to showcase both the old historic nature of the house along with the art, Pandora music sound system, wine, beer, water in the fridge for us, plus muffins and croissants to get our mornings started. Wayne and Danny are the nicest, generous, kind hosts. Our stay felt almost like a retreat in a very safe calm environment during this pandemic. We do hope to come again.

Lonesomeville was incredible

We absolutely loved our time at Lonesomeville. Wayne and Danny were incredible hosts, gave us an extremely kind greeting, and made themselves available whenever we needed them. We adored the property and all of its nooks and crannies, and found a new interesting or beautiful spot each day. And having information in the guest manual about all of the history enriched the experience staying in the house even more. I think our favorite part of the house was the side porch -- we spent many hours sitting out there with coffee or a glass of wine, and just feeling peaceful. Thank you Wayne and Danny for having our group stay at your beautiful creation!

Historic Slice of Heaven

Our family loved our stay in this wonderful, historic farmhouse. The sparkling clean home has been lovingly and artistically restored down to the smallest detail by master artisan hosts, Danny and Wayne. Their artistic handiwork is visible in every square inch of the home and gardens. The bedrooms were very comfortable for sleeping, and we greatly enjoyed spending time together as a family in the many common rooms, garden areas, and porches. The large windows, covered porches, and garden seating areas make it easy to enjoy the beautiful cottage style gardens. Upon arrival, we were treated to a refrigerator full of beverages, a plate of bagels, and wonderful selection of Nespresso coffee and tea. Wayne and Danny are both so friendly and easy to talk to, and they both went out of their way to help us plan our days in Portland. We gives the hosts and this very special home our highest rating and we very much look forward to returning again for future stay.

Unique and beautiful property. We had wonderful family gatherings at the house and in the gardens, and it is truly a wonderland for kids. But we also coveted time alone there - every detail is beautifully thought out and the property rewards leisurely inspection. Our hosts were delightful and accommodating and happy to share the history of this labor of love. We’ll be back!

Perfect retreat

This property is stunning. The beauty of the garden areas, the detail put into every room of the house makes this property special. The house has so many great areas to sit and enjoy the garden and also invites you to go outside and enjoy the flowers. The house was well stocked with what we needed such as coffee, bagels, water and wine. The owners are available if needed and allow you and your family privacy. Great stay and we will return in the future.

Spectacular Experience

Staying at LoneSomeVille was like being swept away into a fairytale of incomparable blooming gardens, with artisan potters and woodworkers . This one-of-a-kind early 20th century restoration was clearly a labor of love and we will forever hold the memory of our week there dear. Can’t wait to return.

This is a lovely converted old farmhouse.

This property is an old converted farmhouse with lots of charm. My wife and I stayed for two weeks while visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and two year old grandson. The owners live in a converted barn next door and were always helpful and very quickly responsive to all of our questions. The property is beautiful with beautiful flora and lots of places for us to enjoy and for our grandson, on his visits, to explore. The house itself is a nicely furbished old farmhouse, with lots of excellent pottery and art made by the owners as part of its decor. The kitchen is somewhat old style, with an old style oven, but fully functional. (No dish washer, but this is as described in its listing, and something that wasn't important to us.) Also, there were excellent coffee beans and grinder and teas left for us and ready for our use, and this was important to me. The eating spaces were nice with the main one having a lovely view out into the gardens. The two main bedrooms are comfortable. One item might have been an issue if my wife and I were taller. The shower head in the only bath/shower was just high enough for me, at 5'7" to stand up straight. The attic/3rd bedroom area is charmingly decorated in a storybook style. The neighborhood is lovely for walking and many places to eat, buy groceries, etc., are a short car ride away. Overall, this is a charming property, consistent with its description though with even more beautiful grounds then described.

5 Star Lonesomeville!

A unique, beautifully maintained property in Woodstock, Portland, OR. My wife and I, along with our Granddaughter stayed there in late July. With all the beautiful trees on the property we were always comfortable inside and outdoors. One evening Wayne built a fire in the beautiful fire pit on the property so our Granddaughter could roast marshmallows. And, when her cousin came over to play, Wayne offered to setup sprinklers for them to play in. When we first arrived, we walked into a beautiful, clean home with relaxing music playing in the background. The music playing was beautiful and come to find out Wayne takes his playlist serious. While we were there, we made a trip to the desert and on the way we ask Wayne for some recommendations on road music. He did not disappoint. Wayne and Danny were very friendly and always responded to our questions immediately. I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed our stay.
