I really was surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. There were numerous subtle considerations (jazz radio station playing low when I entered the room, packets of earplugs in case the city was too loud, a proper tea kettle with good tea and coffee, nice warm lighting, a record player with records to play, thick down comforter and pillows, and a quote from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy about the importance if towels for interstellar travel, and just help yourself to more if you need). I felt very comfortable and at home. Thank you Clyde Hotel!

An amazing stay! Perfect transportation options and so many yummy foods around the area and a cinema across the street. The hotel also has a coffee shop and Photo Booth inside!

I prefer not to write negative reviews, but this hotel stay, along with my evening in this part of Portland, was the low point of my trip. When we arrived around 11 PM, there was no one at the front desk, just a note saying someone would return shortly. When a staff member did return, they casually strolled in, put on headphones, and ignored my greeting. We realized we had already received the room code via email and decided to head to our room. The room felt more like a dorm. It was small, with the beds positioned awkwardly close to each other. However, the room had some quirky Portland charm, including unusual desk-style lamps and a retro radio tuned to an NPR-like station. Oddly, the radio was my favorite part—we left it on all night. The room was clean, but there was only one towel for two guests, which seemed like an oversight. The surrounding area, unfortunately, was in poor condition. Outside our window, we saw a homeless man in distress, wrapped in blankets. It was upsetting to witness and added to the discomfort of the stay. We decided to check out immediately. While the hotel had some charm that others might enjoy, this experience didn’t meet my expectations. I hope this feedback helps improve future stays.

The overall design of the hotel was amazing, along with the nonstop music playing in the lobby. Our room was just as amazing with its design and cleanliness. 1 tiny issue was just the connection issues with the TV, other than that it was perfect for us.

Very cute and clean. Love the ambiance and feel. Looked more upscale than what it costed. Felt safe in the area although certain blocks seemed sketch it did feel safe around the hotel. Loved the ability to block out the light from the window completely with a sliding door. Also loved the key code door so I didn’t have to worry about losing my key card. Also liked that there was a do not disturb sign which many hotels no longer use and I find annoying when housekeeping knocks, especially on check out day. Here they have a door tag to signal you’ve checked out. Everything here just seemed well thought out. If you want to be around people there’s couches downstairs and on the 2nd level where you can sit and a big table on the 2nd floor to eat at if you want. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is great for short stays. If you're used to luxury amenities, this is not the place for you. Place is simple but comfortable. No frills.

Make it clearer about the separate shower
I think it could’ve been clearer that the bathrooms aren’t attached to some rooms. I wasn’t expected to show up and have a dormitory style hotel. It made it feel like a hostel for me.

Front desk was friendly, room is clean and has a very cool loft style aesthetic. Only thing is that there’s a curtain for a bathroom door. But otherwise very happy with this hotel.

I liked that we were able to go into the hotel without having to use a key card to go in but i didnt like that when we arrived the doors were unlocked and i didnt need the code to go in which made it feel unsafe.arriving into the room everything was nice and cute but there were only 2 towels for a 3 night stay for 2 people, the curtains for the shower felt wet which made it feel dirty like if linens and curtains were not clean.
