Ask for a room in the back, the front is street traffic noisy.

The whole building is very unique. It’s almost like a maze. It’s very bright there’s a lot of art in the hallways. The bathrooms are extremely clean.

A charming inn, though decor & carpeting are pretty tired. Staff was a mixed bag-- from extremely helpful and accommodating experienced staff to lackadaisical and unhelpful younger staff-- maybe just a generational thing. I appreciated the breakfast & always available coffee & snacks. Parking was an issue-- their lot was full of people who weren't staying at the Inn-- I ended up having to park far down a sketchy street both nights I stayed. I would still go back-- it had much more character than plain vanilla hotels.

We were put in a room that did not have an in-room bathroom so we had to leave our room with the bathroom key to get to our bathroom. The bathroom also had no ventilation and never totally dried. While the overall building was clean and well decorated the bathroom felt a bit grimy and the room was very small. This part of town is also probably ideal to stay in if you are going to a sport event (right by the arenas) or the hospital, but is several miles from Old Port and the downtown. Portland isn't exactly dangerous but it's not a very well-lit or well-traveled walk from the Inn to the harbor. Breakfast was very decent here and the staff was nice.

Very cute inn at a convenient location in portland. The room was very cleanly even though it was dog friendly, no dog or any smells at all. Bathroom was a separate door down the hall, and it was also super clean and well maintained, but just a bit small. Overall great price for the value!

a really nice place to stay for a solo adventurer. it’s about a 5 minute (or less) walk to the bus stop that takes you to downtown portland with ease. walls are pretty thin though, so if you’re a light sleeper be advised (i was not :P)

A cute and quaint little inn, it was perfect for our city stay. It was easy to access from the highway and easy to get around town by city bus. The staff was helpful. Light sleepers should request a room away from the main street which tends to get noisy at various times through the night.

Room was dark and smelled sort of dirty. The blanket on the bed was threadbare and had holes in some places. The A/C unit used for heat smelled bad and never really got warm. The parking was so limited that I had to park on the street both nights. There is no elevator so I had to pull my luggage up a steep and narrow staircase to my room. Staff was friendly. There was coffee and tea available at all hours. Overall it was just okay but much too expensive for what was offered.

I’d like to preface this by saying it’s quite a bit cheaper than the downtown hotels, and not too far out of downtown. It’s older, dated, rooms are small, it has a very basic breakfast. The room was fine to sleep and shower, but not for hanging around inside. Free arming is a plus, (40-45 downtown). We easily walked downtown and had a cheap fast Uber ride back. We saved so much money, we might do it again. If you have managed expectations, it’s fine.

Decent
A bit quirky, older European style hotel. Rooms are small, slightly dated, bed too, did have a sink. Breakfast is your typical American. Staff friendly. Steep stairs to go up, no elevator. We shared a bathroom. Takes about 25 min or so to walk to old port. Great coffee, bakery 5 min walk away. Overall was decent. Close to airport
