It is an old refurbished hotel but some area fekt dingy or messy. The carpet in breakfast area was really dirty i didn't want to be in there. Lobby was nice and decorated tastefully for the holidays

A different experience this time
This was my fourth stay this season. My first three were delightful in every way. This time, I arrived before check-in time, was told my room wasn't ready (fair enough) but was told I could have a different room for more money. I took it. The thermostat didn't want to work in that room; staff very promptly turned on the heat--but then it would get warmer but not cooler unless I turned it off altogether. There was a door to an adjacent room, too, from which I could hear TV and normal-volume conversations. Eeyew. And, finally, because the room faced the outside, I was treated to really loud music at a party venue nearby until very late. I'll stay here again, but the honeymoon is over!

This is a gorgeous historical property and has been very well preserved! We enjoyed all the amenities including the drink reception and the outstanding breakfast. We will definitely be back!
