We booked this hotel because it had a hot tub. When we got here we asked about the hot tub and was told where it was. We went to our room changed into our bathing suits and went to the hot tub. It was cold and not working. We asked about it and was told it was turned off and the pool guy was coming to turn it back on as he was the only one who could do it. It was still not on before we went to bed. In the morning we checked with the front desk and was told it wasn’t fixed yet. When asked if it would be fixed before check out we were told that he didn’t know the pool guys schedule.

The room we arrived in had an odd smell. We were told this was one of the last rooms available and we paid over $130 a night. The morning after we saw roaches on the table (we didn't bring food) I complained and we were relocated to a different room. The new room had roaches we saw the next morning. (I have pictures/short videos of the insects in the room) This is unacceptable. I left a voicemail for the manager and there was no call back over 24 hours ago. We would have paid more to not have to deal with this. My friend has a cpap, breathing machine. Roaches in a hotel is a health hazard. The hotel also serves cooked food in the morning. I am considering contacting the Florida health inspector.

Great needed some updates
It was great. Occasional spotty wifi. Televsion had reception issues where pictures broke up. The hot tub was hit or miss when it worked, but not fully functioning. Breakfast was great and something different each day. Could use new lounge chairs, some ripped and showed age. Otherwise enjoyed ourselves.

It met my expectation and above will be definite staying here again. If I’m in town, they should update their pictures. On the website especially on the front one. If you don’t click on it you’ll see the rest of the property was a little sketchy.

If i could give neagtive reviews i would. This place is fully infested of roaches. Disgusting. Lobby smells nice cant say the same about the rooms, musty as hell. contacted the front desk about the roaches in the room they said since there was no vacancy if i stay they could give me a discount for my stay or they can refund me my money. i told the lady at the front desk if I'm going to stay there i wouldn't have said anything of course i want my money back. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

There was black mold on the bathroom wall next to the shower in Room 305, and small cockroaches roaming the bathroom floor. Our family was staying on the first floor and one of the people in the room had a cockroach on their cheek in the middle of the night. I do not recommend staying there. Not to mention there was a dog barking most of the night in the next room.

We visit Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte regularly and always stay at the choice Suites. The staff and the hotel are exceptional. Everybody is extremely nice and professional and go out of their way should you need anything. I highly recommend this hotel over any other in the area
